Riwal, rental and sales specialist of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, launches augmented reality feature in the My Riwal Rental app.
This new feature supports customers in selecting the right aerial work platform for the work to be performed. Through this feature, customers can search the My Riwal Rental app for an aerial work platform they want to rent and then view it in augmented reality. Through the camera, the augmented reality feature projects a 3D model of a specific machine into the environment seen on the screen. It is then possible to move this specific machine vertically and horizontally through the work site and also view the dimensions for transport and the full working height plotted against the building. Additionally, with this feature it is possible to determine if a specific aerial work platform will fit through the entrance to the work site and if the working height is sufficient for the work to be performed.
The augmented reality feature will be launched first in the iOS version of the My Riwal Rental app. The launch of this feature in the Android version will soon follow. Riwal's technology uses BIM files that have been converted to augmented reality files so that the machines have the correct dimensions when projected in augmented reality.
The initial launch includes Riwal's top 50 most frequently rented machine models with available BIM files. Eventually, the My Riwal Rental app will make every machine with a BIM file available in the augmented reality feature.
Johan van Klinken, Country Manager Benelux, explains: "At Riwal, we are constantly trying to provide the best customer experience in every way possible. We believe this feature will allow our customers to make better decisions when it comes to choosing the right aerial work platform that best suits their needs."
