New mixing plant for concrete specialist Lithonplus

If a company wants to evolve, modernize its operation or expand its capabilities, investments must also be made. They are aware of this at Lithonplus. That is why the specialist for high-quality concrete products installed a new high-performance turbine mixer from TEKA at its production facility in Stassfurt in spring 2019. This plant is used to produce corner supports and bricks from easily compacted concrete.

For Lithonplus, concrete is synonymous with almost limitless design freedom. The company with 17 production facilities throughout Germany specializes in the development, production and sale of high-quality concrete products. In order to produce more specialty concrete elements in Stassfurt, the management invested in a new mixing plant. "Our existing plant limited our capabilities, so at the end of 2017, with a project team of four people, we started looking for a partner, who could offer a solution that met our high requirements," says Frank Leonhardt, technical manager for the East Germany sites. "We compared different systems on the market and finally approached potential partners with our requirements, drawings and photos of the production hall and plant. This is how we ended up with TEKA Maschinenbau GmbH; one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality mixers and mixing systems for the building materials industry." TEKA carries out everything in-house: from the technical consultation before purchase to commissioning by operators on the customer's shop floor. In 2018, the specialist made an offer for a high-quality THT 1500 turbine mixer for Lithonplus, and in spring 2019, the new plant for the production of corner supports and bricks from easily compacted concrete was delivered.

THT turbine mixer for production of special elements and small series

The high-performance turbine mixer THT 1500 (G-2-V) with a frequency-controlled 45 kW motor and a maximum concrete volume of 1 m³ per mixing cycle is ideally suited for the production of such concrete elements. The system includes a patented mixing turbine and a counter-rotating upper part of the mixer, which guarantees intensive mixing of the concrete mass and the added water. During mixing, the grains are not broken up, so the sieve curve always remains the same. This turbine mixer is ideal for manufacturers of diverse, high-quality products, where the products to be processed also change frequently.

"A very important advantage is the ability to process small quantities for the production of special concrete elements," indicates Patrick Russ, sales manager at TEKA. "With this installation, the dry floor and outer wall were prepared in production at TEKA in such a way that the cold cast tiles could be integrated smoothly and without additional modifications. This mixer was also equipped with a camera, an automatic dedusting filter and a manual setup to take samples." TEKA also supplied the complete mixing and weighing platform with stairs, the corresponding installation for aggregates and the scales for binders and water.

Satisfied customer

"We are very satisfied with our choice of this high-quality turbine mixer. In addition to the low operating and maintenance costs, the modern safety features were decisive. We can take samples without any problems," concludes Leonhardt. "In addition, the plant's six operators received thorough training from a TEKA employee after delivery."
