Safety requirements for shuttering floors are becoming increasingly important. At formwork and scaffolding manufacturer PERI, ensuring this safety during daily work has top priority. PERI introduces the future-proof large panel formwork system SKYMAX as a pioneering innovation for formwork systems. The innovative principle not only significantly increases the level of safety for users, it also improves the degree of economic efficiency.
This solution that allows formwork from a safe position is distinguished not only by its low weight, but also by its high technical and economic flexibility. As such, the SKYMAX system is marketed as a kit consisting of compatible components of different materials. SKYMAX offers customers entirely new and flexible ways to tailor the formwork solution to individual requirements. Panels, outrigger heads and other system components can be used in many different combinations. In the future, it will also be possible to assemble SKYMAX panels into large table formwork on the construction site using safety equipment. Moreover, it will be possible to attach additional panels directly to the SKYMAX table formwork and thus flexibly extend the formwork system. In this way, the slab formwork ensures a high degree of economic efficiency on the construction site and is particularly safe.
The ability to perform the forming procedure from the level below makes SKYMAX a future-proof investment. From a safe position on the mounting surface below, the panels are guided by tines through the patented guide openings, to the head where they are automatically secured in place and cannot be lifted. This reduces the amount of work and effort involved and significantly increases the level of safety on the construction site. Additional system components such as column frames and pass plate carriers make it safe and easy to level pass surfaces, significantly reducing the amount of effort involved.
By installing standard dual-frequency RFID transponders in every SKYMAX system, PERI has ensured that SKYMAX is optimally equipped for the future. This technology enables customers to detect and clearly identify SKYMAX panels at long distances and in groups using a scanner. In this way, not only can specific component information and assembly instructions be digitally retrieved using a conventional NFC-compatible smartphone and the PERI Material Scan App thanks to this special RFID tag, but logistics processes can also be optimized according to the track & trace principle.
Working with the SKYMAX system is remarkably easy because of the small number of different system components. The system of combining the panels and heads is self-explanatory. As such, the assembly process can be learned without the need for extensive training.
Only one head is needed for formwork process, as the head can be flexibly deployed in all directions, even in edge areas and when changing direction of panels. Thanks to the well-thought-out geometry of the panels, outrigger heads and immersion heads, the panels can be supported by the heads at any position. This allows SKYMAX to be used flexibly, easily and time-savingly.
The use of the SKYMAX system speeds up construction site processes. With the start carrier, you can easily start the process and the formwork process becomes more efficient: in addition to the reduced workload at the start, fewer tripods are required for the formwork process. Moreover, it is no longer necessary to go through the time-consuming process of raising the individual outriggers to one level. The use of an immersion head minimizes formwork time and paves the way for fast and partial early stripping. Once early stripping is complete, the SKYMAX panels can be used together with the heads for the next section. This reduces the material required on site and lowers costs. Given that only two workers are needed for the forming and stripping process, the amount of personnel required is also minimized.
The lightweight and large-scale aluminum and polymer-based panels used in the SKYMAX system will win customers over because of their low weight, which reduces the amount of time and effort required for the assembly process. None of the formwork panels weigh more than 32 kg. In addition, the handles in the side and length profiles make the panels easier and more ergonomic to use.
