Concrete event 2021: sharing knowledge online and meeting each other live

This year's Concrete Event 2021 will take place on Wednesday, November 17 and Thursday, November 18. It is the event where professionals from the (concrete) construction sector can meet, gain knowledge and share knowledge with each other. The Concrete Association, organizer of the Concrete Event, has chosen this year to organize the event over two days: an online knowledge program and an offline networking day at the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam.

A household name in the (concrete) construction world for more than 60 years, Concrete Day was attended by 2,000 professionals, students and teachers in 2019. Through the impact of corona, the Concrete Association has successfully transformed the traditional Concrete Day in 2020 into the Concrete Event, a virtual meeting place for the industry. Maikel Jagroep, director of the Concrete Association, says: "This year we also choose to organize a custom event, with which we are confident that we can offer visitors a nice substantive program and give them enough space to need each other. Both online and live!"

Program 2021: online and live

An up-to-date and inspiring knowledge program entitled 'Panorama Concrete, the Deepening' will be offered online on Wednesday, November 17. It will cover the themes: climate adaptation, energy transition, urbanization and circularity. Through a digital platform, visitors can follow substantive knowledge sessions, participate in break-out sessions and join the networking carousel. On Thursday, November 18, professionals from the (concrete) construction sector can once again meet live at the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam. Meeting places of partners, the well-known networking square, substantive lectures and the presentation of the Concrete Award 2021 are the main focus of this day.

Ticket sales for the 2021 Concrete Event begin in early September.

Concrete award ceremony 2021

The 22nd edition of this year's Concrete Award ceremony will take place live during the Concrete Event 2021 on November 18 at the Van Nelle Factory. Eligible for the Concrete Award are structures or parts (in the broad sense of the word) realized in the Netherlands by Dutch or foreign companies. Projects realized abroad by Dutch companies may also be considered on the condition that there has been a substantial contribution of Dutch concrete expertise. Competitions will be held in the following categories:

• Civil structures
• Sustainable construction
• Groundbreaking construction
• Utility Building
• Housing
• Future Prize
