The story of E.S.S. Scaffolding Services begins in 1979, when founder Cees Vergouwen took his first steps as a scaffolding mechanic. With passion for the trade and a strong desire to grow, he worked his way up to Head Assembly at one of the largest scaffolding construction companies in the Netherlands.
After nearly three decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge, Kees decided it was time for a new challenge. On January 1, 2007, E.S.S. Scaffolding Services was born - a company that stands for quality, safety and reliability.
What began in the residential construction sector quickly grew into a versatile player with a strong reputation in the maritime sector and steel construction. Today, we pride ourselves on our role as a partner for complex projects, where craftsmanship and flexibility are key.
E.S.S. is more than a company - it is a family. Together with his two sons, Kees built a company in which knowledge, commitment and continuity go hand in hand.
Today E.S.S. is on the eve of a new phase: the gradual transfer of the company to Wesley and Stefan. With respect for the foundation that Cees laid, they will take over step by step, ensuring that the vision and values of E.S.S. are preserved for the future.
Stefan has been active within E.S.S. since 2013 and has developed into the face of our operational activities. He directs the execution of projects and monitors quality on site. With his experience at leading companies, Stefan ensures that every project - from marine structures to luxury yacht construction - is completed on schedule and with the highest safety standards. His strength? Practical solutions, clear communication and a hands-on mentality.
Wesley has been part of E.S.S. since 2008 and is responsible for the financial and strategic direction of the company. He ensures healthy operations and monitors the continuity of our organization. In addition, Wesley manages our quality management systems (VCA**, ISO 9001 and SCL step 3). His role is crucial for achieving sustainable growth and ensuring our reputation as a reliable partner. His focus? Efficiency, safety and future-proof strategies.
E.S.S. Scaffolding B.V. is the specialist in scaffolding construction in the maritime and infrastructure sector. Safety and sustainability come first. We have the necessary certificates for assembling, dismantling and renting facilities to work at height in a protected way and are also a member of the association VSB (association of scaffolding, aerial work platform and concrete formwork companies).
