Construx b.v. is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of formwork systems and precast moulds for concrete elements. It is headquartered in Belgium. The acquisition in 2014 of the Dutch company Dijkhor bv gave the company a foothold in the Netherlands. Due to continued growth, Construx-Dijkhor b.v. will soon exchange Veenendaal for Maarsbergen.
In recent years, concrete construction has been firmly on the rise worldwide. Compared to traditional construction methods, buildings, works of art and other structures made of concrete are much stronger and more durable. Casting concrete can be done on site or in the prefabrication hall. For both applications and for all possible concrete elements, Construx offers the appropriate solution.
The family-owned Construx group already comprises five companies in Belgium, one in the Netherlands and one in Bucharest. With 180 motivated employees, it realizes an annual turnover of over 30 MIO euros. Under the slogan 'Shaping the Future of Concrete' it is constantly pushing back the boundaries in terms of new processes, technologies and implementation methods in custom molds and formwork.
Construx is more than just a supplier of precast molds or formwork. Thanks to close cooperation with its customers, it is always able to work out even the most complex formwork projects to size. Constantly following the latest developments in the concrete industry leads to ever more efficient processes, technologies and execution methods.
Construx steel precast molds and formwork are used by major concrete precast contractors for a wide variety of applications and elements, including beams, columns, baseboards, floors, walls, stairs, cabins, boxes, wells, basements, retaining walls, stacking blocks and more. It also always provides an appropriate custom solution for the formwork of special architectural elements, special shapes or prestressed elements. In addition, very own developments for specific applications are addressed. For example, Construx developed special precast moulds for making electricity cabinets in substations and moulds for nuclear waste boxes.
Construx is also responsible for equipping complete production lines at the customer's site. The rental of formwork is also part of the possibilities and the wide range of accessories for formwork systems completes the service package.
No artwork or infrastructure project is too high for Construx. By applying familiar mold building and fabrication techniques, advanced formwork was created for structures, civil projects and infrastructure applications. The interplay between precast and on-site formwork techniques lifted both specialties to a higher level. Through particularly close cooperation with customers, Construx has been able to develop into the one-stop-shop for precast molds and formwork on the construction site. Large contractors greatly appreciate a single point of contact for all their shuttering needs.
Construx provides daily formwork for 3D elements cast on site, quay walls, bridges, columns, tunnels, etc. In this way, the company contributes to the smooth running of public life and just about every form of mobility. We would like to list a few projects that appeal to the imagination and in which Construx has collaborated in recent years and in which co-creation and out-of-the-box thinking have played an important role. For example, it supplied column and column-head formwork for the Oosterweel project, which aims to streamline traffic in and around Antwerp, and was involved in the expansion of Amsterdam's train station. Pillars for a "light rail" connection in Dublin were also realized with her formwork molds. For the construction of a new aircraft viaduct at Schiphol Airport, she designed the center pinless and interchangeable pillar and pillar wall formwork.
Herry Van Houten, director of Construx in the Netherlands: "Our current location in Veenendaal has now become too small. So we started looking for another place to build new premises with a production area of about 5,000 m2. After evaluating various locations, we finally chose the land on the Haarbos industrial estate in Maarsbergen and purchased it in April 2021. The industrial area Haarbos is centrally located, is close to the A12 motorway and the distance to the old site is less than 15 km, which is good for the current staff. The confidence of the Construx Group in the Dutch branch is already very high, which explains the EUR 5.5 MIO investment in the new building."
As a manufacturer of concrete formwork, it is only natural that Construx chose to build in concrete for its new facility, including the office area, from the columns over the roof to the exterior facade. This will give the new building a distinctly industrial look. "Construx wants to grow strongly in the future and will therefore be hiring a lot of staff. In the short term, we are even thinking of 15 to 20 new employees. This is a nice challenge for us for the coming years."
