Precast concrete walls: An added value for any utility building

From a state-of-the-art factory at the Ecofactorij in Apeldoorn, Preco supplies a wide range of precast concrete elements. One of Preco's specialties is the production of precast concrete walls. High-quality components that significantly shorten the construction process and extend the life span of buildings. Just as in the case of three distribution centers, which are currently being built on the Lage Weide industrial estate in Utrecht.

In the field of precast concrete, the name Preco stands for total care. Not only is the service package including 3D engineering, delivery and assembly thick and fast, the company led by director and co-owner Theo Kool also offers a diverse and extensive product program. "Walls, columns, beams, stairs and platform slabs, balcony and gallery slabs, hollow-core slabs, T-docks and even specials: flexible as we are, we can meet just about any customer requirement," Kool said. "This is all done under one roof and with a razor-sharp focus on sustainability." For example, Preco signs up for a solid reduction in CO2 emissions, for example by adding a minimal amount of cement to its concrete mixes. Furthermore, the company is highly committed to smart production processes, greatly reduced energy consumption and continuous renewal and optimization of internal processes. 

Always a solution

The use of precast concrete walls significantly shortens the construction process. At the same time, they extend the lifespan of buildings. With Preco's wall products, every buyer therefore opts for a high-quality win-win solution. The extensive program ranges from simple partition walls/fire walls, insulated wall panels (gray, but also in a version with washed gravel), cascade walls, structural walls with a ridge on which a hollow-core slab floor can be laid, concrete skirting boards, round walls, interior walls to walls embossed or provided with a photo print or text. "In addition, we can provide them with window and/or door recesses, electrical points, cavity anchors, anchor rails and set frames on request," Kool lists. "Furthermore, it is possible to deliver the walls constructively with the pouring facilities required for this purpose. In short, with precast walls we help our customers quickly, easily and at a friendly price on their way to the desired building construction. To this end, we draw the elements in 3D, produce them according to KOMO, deliver them at the desired time and, if desired, take care of assembly ourselves. We complete the whole picture."

Versatility

Preco's precast concrete walls are currently being used extensively by construction company Wouters from Schijndel during the realization of three distribution centers (DC UTR06 Warehouse A, B and C) on the Lage Weide industrial estate in Utrecht. After starting in early 2021, completion of the three adjacent warehouses is scheduled for spring 2022. "With a total area of more than 67,000 square meters, this is a large and varied project, for which we are supplying, among other things, insulated façade panels made of washed gravel, loading pit walls and various solid interior walls," said Kool. "Products with which we can nicely underline our expertise and versatility."
