The Mobile Concrete Group (MCG) stands out as the only party in the Netherlands with mobile concrete plants that are not exclusively tied to one contractor. "We operate freely in the market and can set up our concrete plants at any location within 24 hours. This flexibility provides great advantages for transport, environment and quality. Moreover, our plants have a very favorable MKI value," says managing director Anton Koelma. MCG is part of Mineralis BV and its mobile concrete plants have a capacity of as much as 100 to 130 cubic meters per hour.
"Our plants are used on numerous projects, both short-term and long-term. And we do this as sustainably as possible and at competitive prices, unique to the Netherlands. Having a temporary concrete plant exclusively on your own construction site naturally has numerous advantages, including time savings. The concrete is immediately available for use on the project site."
The Environmental Cost Indicator (EQI) aggregates all relevant environmental impacts of a product into a single score. MCG operates sustainably, resulting in a favorable MKI score. "We use electrically powered mixer trucks, whose battery is charged by wind energy. Also, at the request of the client, it is possible to use recycled raw materials. There are also environmental benefits when the construction site is on or near water. This is because we can deliver all materials by ship, which saves thousands of freight movements and many transport costs per project. An additional advantage is that this puts significantly less strain on the road network. In the future, we want to switch completely to electric trucks in order to work in an even more environmentally friendly way."
MCG's power plants are fully certified. Because of their working method and experience, they are frequently called in for large projects. In the Rotterdam port area, for example, MCG is working on the expansion of the Prinses Amaliahaven, which is being commissioned by contractor combination HBV (HOCHTIEF, Ballast Nedam and Van Oord). "For this project, our two mobile concrete mortar plants are making 140,000 cubic meters of building material. That means ten mixer trucks are running almost non-stop," Koelma said.
MCG offers its customers several options, such as fixed price agreements per cubic meter, based on open calculation or as part of a construction team. Optional operators can be used. "We respond to the wishes of our clients, from the beginning to the end of a project, ensuring the best quality at attractive prices. All cements are possible, as well as various admixtures and aggregates, with or without granules. Limestone or fly ash can be used as filler and fiber reinforcement is also an option."
In conclusion, Koelma explains, "We act as problem solvers. Where other concrete plants are remote, we are directly on site. Whatever happens, we can solve it quickly."
