BIM Talk on November 14 on BIM and legal contracts

The Nov. 14 BIMPraat On Tour is about BIM and legal contracts. Topics include contracting obligations when companies work with BIM. Mr. Jacob Henriquez and Bruno Bartelds will discuss this topic and answer questions.

The BIMPraat 'BIM and legal contracts' is being organized for the third time in the past four years as the previous meetings have proven to be very successful. On November 14, the BIMPraat On Tour will be a guest at law firm Ploum led by Mr. Jacob Henriquez. Bruno Bartelds of Het BIM Instituut will also speak and answer questions.

BIM Talk in two parts

This BIMPraat consists of two parts. In Part 1, Henriquez and Bartelds will discuss BIM when entering into an agreement. Because legal issues often involve project- and organization-specific expectations, part of this BIMPraat will focus on identifying those expectations. And, of course, the impact of those expectations on the use of BIM in the contract formation process.

In Part 2 of the BIMPraat, they will discuss BIM at the completion of the work. They will also focus on the As Built model: the revision model upon delivery of the building.

Speakers

Jacob Henriquez is an experienced litigator working at law firm Ploum. He assists his clients in a wide range of construction and infrastructure-related disputes, both in the public courts (courts and tribunals) and in arbitration before, among others, the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), the Council of Arbitration for the Construction Industry (Raad van Arbitrage voor de Bouw (RvA) and the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC. Henriquez also has many publications to his name on developments in his field.

Bruno Bartelds is founder and director of The BIM Institute and BrugVB, a consultancy in the field of design and construction processes and 3D engineering. Bartelds' expertise is to make building processes real at an early stage with BIM and virtual building. With this, a 'first time build' is faithfully simulated and possible bottlenecks can be addressed early on, resulting in a smoother and more efficient process. Bartelds is also founder of The BIM Institute which aims to work with a no-nonsense mentality on an innovative view of the new building. Bartelds has proven in recent years in projects, seminars and publications to have solid knowledge of BIM and virtual building.
