Pioneer in concrete compaction as innovative as ever

Wacker Neuson is known for its very complete range of concrete compaction equipment. As a pioneer in the world of concrete compaction, the company brought the first internal vibrators to market back in 1937. Since then, the portfolio has continued to expand. Wacker Neuson is as innovative as ever. An interview with sales director Carl Codron about the latest developments in concrete compaction equipment.

iF Design Award.

With a comprehensive range of construction equipment and compact machines, spare parts and services to customers around the world, Wacker Neuson's portfolio is impressive to say the least. The company is the global market leader in professional concrete compaction with its various models of internal vibrators. The concrete compaction program also includes a range of external vibrators, frequency converters, reinforcement ties and vibrating beams. Codron discusses the highlights with us.

IRFU with integrated bodyguard

The high-frequency vibrating needles of the IRFU series are distinguished primarily by one feature, Codron states. "They are easy to connect to the 1-phase power supply and are then ready for use, courtesy of an integrated frequency converter. Ideal for independent use. In addition, the patented Bodyguard™ provides the user with additional safety. The protection system integrated at the end of the cable switches the device off within 3 ms in the event of irregularities or the danger of a power surge."

iF Design Award

The IEC series high-frequency poker vibrators are equipped with an integrated electronic converter. "The internal vibrators are characterized by their great application flexibility and simple operation," says Codron. Wacker Neuson's IEC Series internal vibrators were even awarded the renowned iF Design Award last year. Like all Wacker Neuson internal vibrators, the IEC series is produced at the Reichertshofen location near Ingolstadt, Germany. The company also develops the motors itself and places great importance on quality. With three internal vibrator diameters of 38, 45 and 58 millimeters and a protective line with a length of up to 10 meters, all standard construction work can be carried out easily and quickly.

The DF 16 mechanical rebar tying device has a proven double-thread technology for up to a thousand evenly tightened and fixed knots per hour.

Portable frequency converters

In addition to internal vibrators in various performance classes, external vibrators for all types of formwork, vibrating tables and stationary converters, Wacker Neuson now also offers a range of portable high-frequency converters expanded by three performance classes. Codron: "The FUH35 and FUH70 frequency converters are real lightweights for concrete processing. The space-saving, high-frequency technology ensures extremely compact dimensions and low weight compared to traditional inverters. The devices are also characterized by a reliable and stable power and voltage supply, even in continuous operation. The frequency converters are suitable for the use of vibrating needles and vibrating motors."

Optimal freedom of movement

Wacker Neuson's battery-powered internal vibrator system introduced at Bauma 2019 is now available, Codron confirms. "Thanks to the battery-operated inverter backpack, it is possible to work without a power cable. Especially when working with formwork and scaffolding, the user benefits from great freedom of movement and an unlimited working radius because he does not have to pull on a cable." According to Codron, the powerful lithium-ion battery provides energy for an entire working day and is compatible with other battery products from Wacker Neuson.

Mechanical binding

Finally, the DF 16 rebar tying device relieves stress where it is worth it. "The mechanically operated device has a proven double-wire technology for up to a thousand evenly tightened and fixed knots per hour. Tying rebar with pliers and in a bent posture is thus a thing of the past. This is because the DF 16 is easy to operate with just one hand and in an upright position. It is a professional device for traditional rebar work, but also for tying plastic tubes for the activation of construction elements," Codron concludes.
