Riwal, rental and sales specialist of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, has made tremendous strides in developing its customer portal (My Riwal) to meet customer needs. This hard work has resulted in its nomination for the 2019 IAPA Digital Development Award!
Managing large construction or industrial projects can be complex and challenging. However, by using innovative digital technology offered through My Riwal, customers can improve site safety, increase productivity and gain insight into emissions and usage, thereby saving on costs. In the My Riwal digital customer portal, customers can view their entire rental history online. Customers can rent or cancel additional machines. This makes communication more effective because a user can complete all these actions 24/7 from any location.
With telematics integrated into the My Riwal portal, users can see the precise location of each machine in real time. Including data on how often the machines are used. The customer can even set notifications for specific time periods (e.g., 24 hours), so they can decide to log off the machine when it is not being used. In the past, there was no insight into the time a machine was not being used, a boom lift could sometimes be idle for days while no one noticed. At Riwal, we help customers understand these usage patterns and respond better to them.
In addition, My Riwal provides data of the total emissions savings possible when electric and hybrid equipment is deployed instead of diesel-powered machines. This encourages customers to think about deploying 100% electric equipment from Riwal without impacting the performance of the machines. Customers can also download this data and use it for sustainability reports.
Furthermore, My Riwal also makes it possible for (sub)contractors to work together digitally as a team on a project. For example, if Riwal has six customers working on the same construction site, a project can be created in the portal so that each (sub)contractor can see the other's machines. This level of visibility can greatly improve site productivity.
Currently, My Riwal is used by customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France and Poland. Other countries will follow.
