The developer and supplier of a diverse range of intelligent, transparent and price-friendly design and calculation software for steel, timber and concrete structures has made great strides since its founding in 2014, the pitch confirms. And the drive is far from over, believes director Rob Baaij. "We are continuously improving and increasing the quality and functionality of our software."
Working with Struct4U's design and calculation modules is tantamount to enjoying the necessary benefits. The in-house developed software is reliable, user-friendly, modern, always up-to-date and very powerful. Moreover, there is no need to buy prohibitively expensive licenses and enter into maintenance contracts. Customers pay a low amount just for use. And that pays off, both during its use and in the wallet.
By using the latest programming and development techniques, Struct4U makes new strides every day. Not only are the quality and functionality of the software constantly increasing (see also boxed text), the software tools are also becoming more and more user-friendly. "As a 'new kid on the block,' in 2014 we naturally could not yet offer all the functionalities that the structural engineer needs during his daily work," explains Baaij. "However, by constantly responding to the wishes and needs from the market, we have made considerable progress in recent years. Developments are rapid within our company. And that is not a statement from ourselves, but rather from our customers. It shows that we are on the right track. That is why we remain fully committed to continuing these rapid developments and ensuring the high quality of our products. Leaning back is something we don't know."
Good can always be better. That is also the motto at Struct4U. "We listen carefully to our customers and argue ourselves that the customer is always right," says Baaij. "Why? Because they work with the software and can therefore best determine whether something is awkward or unclear or whether a certain functionality is missing. In short, improving Struct4U's software and making it more functional is the result of a close collaboration that has borne beautiful fruit for both our customers and ourselves in recent years."
Currently, Baaij and his people are working to expand the FEM. "To this end, we have entered into a pleasant and very effective collaboration with Prof. Johan Blaauwendraad," Baaij said. "He advised us to use a hybrid quadrangular plate element, which allows accurate calculations to be made, including a reinforcement calculation. In addition, he provided us with tremendous support around the realization and implementation of this. Soon we will report further on this novelty in this magazine."
