IMPACT Design for REVIT
The precast concrete industry is in the midst of a digital transformation. With increasing demands around accuracy, speed, durability and error reduction, the industry is shifting from traditional 2D methods to fully integrated BIM processes.
Precast Concrete manufacturers will increasingly be asked to participate in their customers' BIM workflows. Project management, collaboration, reduction of failure costs and improvement of efficiency and quality in the exchange of information are the main reasons.
To properly participate in a BIM process, digitization and appropriate BIM software are a requirement.
With IMPACT Design for REVIT offers StruSoft a solution for both technical detailing of Precast Concrete elements and seamless integration with BIM processes.

Developments are very fast, where many Precast Concrete manufacturers are still working with Excel schedules and 2D CAD working drawings, BIM models are already using standards for quality control with Augmented Reality (AR) and AI algorithms to improve workflows.
BIM has long since ceased to be a model for 3D geometry. It is a data model enriched with information about schedules, costs, materials, maintenance and even environmental metrics. BIM is used to exchange information between all disciplines that have a relationship with or supply parts to the structure. With IMPACT, StruSoft offers software that allows Precast Concrete Plants to reconnect with the latest developments. By optimizing internal processes, IMPACT will create added value through better collaboration and more efficient production.
REVIT has emerged as one of the most influential BIM platforms in the construction industry. From design by architect to execution by contractor, REVIT is used worldwide as a platform in BIM processes.
By detailing with IMPACT Design for REVIT it becomes possible, as a precast concrete manufacturer, to be part of the BIM process and exchange data with your customer in an efficient way, related to the precast concrete elements to be delivered.
IMPACT Design is just one part of the IMPACT family. The IMPACT Project Manager and IMPACT Production complete the family.

IMPACT is actually a central SQL Database that communicates with all the components in the IMPACT family; Design, Project Manager and Production. One source of truth throughout the precast manufacturing process.
The fact that all IMPACT software communicates with the same database creates a complete integration and seamless exchange of information. Not only within the IMPACT family, but also to your customers' BIM models.
The IMPACT Project Manager is a powerful tool for entrusting relevant project information such as assembly sequences, deliveries and schedules to the IMPACT database.
The enriched information will not only benefit your client's BIM model, but will above all be able to be used to control the production of precast concrete elements. IMPACT Production Will manage and plan the production processes in your plant and will certainly add great value.
Powerful functionality IMPACT, even without 3D models
The uniqueness of the IMPACT software is that it can be fully functional even when no BIM participation is required. Through the IMPACT Project Manager can, from a wide variety of sources, entrust information to the IMPACT database and provides full 3D functionality.

Where the BIM model is the prerequisite for optimal cooperation within your customer's project, the IMPACT software will optimize cooperation within your own precast production organization. Thanks to the IMPACT database, every employee within the organization has access to the most relevant and up-to-date information.

The BIM data of projects provided by contractors generally does not contain sufficient information for the production of precast concrete elements. Specific technical element information is rarely delivered from the BIM model in such a way that this information can be used for the production of precast concrete elements. Precast elements must almost always be re-detailed. Technical execution, such as edge details, connections, reinforcement, type of lifting and pouring devices must be worked out and recorded for each individual element. Specific working drawings for form and reinforcement, production lists and machine data must then be generated.
Only limited information from the BIM Model can be used, such as global dimensions, references and location. In the technical detailing of precast concrete elements, this information is often used as an “underlay.”.
If additional technical details about the precast concrete element are included from a Model, then IMPACT Design for REVIT additional Tools to “map” this information into the IMPACT Database.
IMPACT Design is specially developed for detailing precast concrete elements. It can be used for almost all types of concrete elements and is installed as a plug-in in Bricscad, AutoCad and REVIT.
The plug-in IMPACT Design for REVIT in addition to the functionality of REVIT, offers much additional functionality specifically for detailing precast concrete elements. A structured “workflow” allows the automation of parametric functions such as edge detailing, connections, positioning pouring devices, reinforcement and working drawings.
The company-specific setup of REVIT requires a lot of attention. Here one can count on expert support from the experts of StruSoft. Over time, the IMPACT database will be enriched with company-specific definitions, templates, libraries and parametric families, which will then become available for any new precast concrete project.
IMPACT Design for REVIT offers a solution for full participation in the BIM process as well as detailing precast concrete elements specifically for your precast concrete production.
REVIT is not a 3D drawing program, but builds an intelligent 3D data model with interrelationships and dependencies. Working with this software requires specific knowledge and skills, different from working with traditional CAD programs.
Construction education institutions are responding to this. Students today are educated and trained in modeling with REVIT. Students, having mastered REVIT, no longer want to go back to a CAD environment.
Optimization of production processes, data exchange with BIM and the search for young and construction talent are the main reasons that many Precast Concrete companies are reorienting themselves in terms of digitalization.
At StruSoft is constantly working in close cooperation with its customers to improve the IMPACT software. Developments are rapid. New functionalities are introduced with each new release of REVIT. StruSoft leads the way in turning new features and customer experiences into useful and valuable tools for IMPACT Design, which will improve and accelerate the technical detailing of precast concrete elements.
