New exclusive distributor for Benelux and France of German HV sets 

Fasteners are everywhere and hold the world together. They know this better than anyone at Stafa. The family business continuously invests in strategic partnerships and selects its suppliers ever closer to home, in order to offer customers a total package that responds to the growing demand for European quality and durability. Recently, the HV sets for dynamically loaded structures from German manufacturer Friedberg have also been available exclusively from Stafa.

Since January 1, 2025, Stafa has the exclusive representation of August Friedberg GmbH's HV fastener bolts, nuts and washers for the Benelux and France. "Friedberg is a leading manufacturer in the field of fasteners," says Pim van Leeuwen, commercial director at Stafa. "With this expansion, we now sustainably source the entire product line for the steel construction industry from Europe, both Friedberg's HV sets and the SB bolts (EN 15048) that we source from other European manufacturers. This enables us to have short delivery times and contributes to the further sustainability of our supply chain."

Deliver from stock

Friedberg is cut from the same cloth as Stafa, according to Wolfgang Brück, team leader DACH region at Stafa. "A financially sound, stable and close-knit family business," he says. "From Stafa, we supply HV sets from stock in standard sizes M12 through M36.
Larger sizes up to M72 are available upon request. Specific requirements can be coordinated in consultation, as our colleagues maintain close contact with Friedberg's technical department to provide the best possible solutions for our customers at all times." The HV sets comply with EN 14399-4/6. "Upon request, we can also provide the ROK tests, a requirement imposed from Rijkswaterstaat and important for many companies in the Dutch construction world," Van Leeuwen adds. Apart from the HV prestressing bolts, nuts and washers, Stafa also supplies injection bolts, naturally with the corresponding pre-tensioning washers with chamber and groove.

Coefficient of friction

A key USP of Friedberg's HV sets is the unique AF PRO® lubrication on the nuts. "With HV preload bolts, the coefficient of friction is an important factor. Temperature and moisture usually affect the coefficient of friction of lubrication," Van Leeuwen explains. "AF PRO®, on the other hand, is insensitive to weather influences and remains stable under all conditions, in rain, extreme heat up to 60 degrees Celsius or frost down to minus 20 degrees Celsius. And should a nut fall into the sand on the construction site, you simply rinse it off with water and you can still install it according to the standard, without loss of quality of the bolted connection. That too is crucial for the steel fabricator who, after all, has to issue the guarantee of a solid and safe construction."

The exclusive partnership with Friedberg fits perfectly within Stafa's strategy as a total supplier of (dynamic) fasteners. "By combining Friedberg's innovative products with Stafa's personal approach and logistical strength, the market can count on reliability, ease of use and availability," Brück concludes. "We guarantee short delivery times, have a huge stock and a lot of in-house knowledge for appropriate advice, should it be needed."
