From a cleaning grid at the entrance of a school to architectural projects: Dejo gratings are found everywhere. So it is not surprising that Dejo takes extra account of sustainability in production, but also in the life span of the products themselves.
Reuse of materials, for example, is becoming increasingly important. Some time ago, for example, Dejo supplied all the platform gratings, deck gratings and steps for the Energiecampus in Leeuwarden. This sustainable campus, located on a former landfill, had only one requirement besides circularity: the materials had to be fully demountable so that all gratings could be reused the moment parts of the campus had to be moved.
Another example is the municipality of Venlo, for whom cooperation with a Cradle to Cradle Certified™ producer was a rock-solid requirement. Dejo Metaalindustrie BV already achieved this status in 2010 with bronze, after much effort it even managed to upgrade to 'silver' status in 2020. A unique achievement, as only 200 companies in Europe hold the silver C2C certificate.
Dejo eventually supplied all ventilation and platform grilles in galvanized steel for the municipality of Venlo, topped with a green facade that functions as a kind of lung. Through natural ventilation, air flows through the building via the dejo carton grille. A great example of how sustainability can come together through different (air) channels.
