The delivery of 642 enormous walls for the construction of three storage halls was tailored to the speed of assembly. Project Manager Tom Oort of Tricon says, "By connecting directly with production, transporter and execution, we realized a clear workable delivery schedule. Our expertise in this area came in handy."
Because of the enormous size of the walls, 10 meters high by 3.5 meters wide, they were transported on their long sides and in sleds. Upon arrival at the construction site, the walls had to be tilted. For this purpose, Tricon supplied a specially developed tilting jack. The walls are placed in this and can easily be tilted with a crane and assembled in the right place. Oort: "Due to the size of the work, the filling of the walls had to take place in phases. For this, we had pouring breaks incorporated into the walls to make these phases easier."
For four months, Tricon delivered the hollow walls almost daily. For the three halls, a total of 325 loads were involved. Because of their size, only two walls fit on a truck. Oort: "And you can deliver some ahead, but not too much. It was also a special project for us. We therefore started the preparations early, in order to be able to tackle any problems ahead of time. And with success, because everything went smoothly."
