Platform on concrete and steel in construction
Sixty low-energy houses are currently being built at The One new construction project in Terneuzen, Zeeland. For contractor H4A, this was the first project to use prefabricated foundation beams from Schokindustrie, a specialist in prefabricated concrete products.
A choice that clearly paid off in execution.
Zwijndrecht-based Schokindustrie has been designing and manufacturing certified precast concrete products for residential and commercial construction since 1934. Besides foundation beams, the company specializes in, among other things, storage floors, piles and stability and elevator walls. For new construction project The One, Schokindustrie supplied a total of no less than 1,150 meters of precast foundation beams.
The special feature of new construction project The One is that the assembly of the foundation beams was carried out in just three days. According to Schokindustrie, this high assembly speed demonstrates that precast foundations offer clear added value compared to traditionally poured foundations. The elements are produced completely to size in the factory under conditioned conditions and are directly processable on the construction site. In combination with the execution by assembly partner Vroom Betonbouw, a tight schedule without delays was realized.
In addition to speed, Schokindustrie's precast foundation beams offer distinct advantages in terms of working conditions and sustainability. Because hardly any shuttering work is required on site, employees spend less time in the construction pit and physically demanding work is reduced. In addition, the process is low-waste: all elements are produced prefabricated, reducing material consumption and construction waste to a minimum.
All products of Schokindustrie, part of De Hoop Terneuzen, are manufactured under KOMO certification and meet the highest requirements in terms of quality, durability and safety. Thanks in particular to the close cooperation with Vroom Betonbouw, Schokindustrie offers a complete foundation solution from a single source, from design to assembly.
The One is once again living proof of this: this new construction project is considered a representative example of the optimum efficiency and quality that precast foundation systems can offer in modern housing construction.
