Back to work! So is the awareness campaign ZEKER ZINK. The information sessions are moving forward at a brisk pace after a successful spring and summer interlude. ZEKER ZINK brings the members of Zinkinfo Benelux closer to architect and study bureau. And above all, hot-dip galvanizing offers sustainable certainty over time. Sharing knowledge means connecting, which is where all parties really benefit. Meanwhile, the roadshow is so well underway that ZEKER ZINK has become a household word with many an architect and engineer. Sessions and outings work wonders and bring people and ideas together. Once again connecting and sharing are inseparable Siamese twins.
This time we were guests of Ingenieursbureau Norbert Provoost in Sint-Amandsberg where Alexander Willems received us warmly. The gathered engineers and architects were attentive and many a notepad was full of notes at the end. Our new man Hans Boender acquitted himself perfectly and went down to earth on the subject matter. What and how galvanized him with verve and he also managed to get the audience to ask questions. This quickly showed that his approach was sound. Director Bruno Dursin's well-oiled baritone added to the experience, his deep voice penetrating everyone. He expertly drew the story of the industry and organization, touched on the oft-heard concept of circularity and, using the Eiffel Tower as an example, managed to convince the attendees that hot-dip galvanizing has a very beneficial effect on the (TLCC) total life cycle cost of a steel structure. After all, painting the Eiffel Tower is and always has been a tricky task, a headless dragon that continues to scavenge paint (60 tons) and money....
Over sandwiches and drinks, numerous more questions and advice surfaced. The ice was formally broken, resulting in excited and satisfied looks. Above all, the knowledge offered aims to bridge the gap between galvanizers and designers. Wherever ZEKER ZINK holds sessions, nowhere do we say goodbye, rather we have become a long-term partner: design agencies can always turn to Zinkinfo Benelux for advice: www.zekerzink.com. Taking an initial stock, we conclude that the ZEKER ZINK campaign is at least effective and that hot-dip galvanizing is a passport to the future.
