Concrete processing machines are becoming more sustainable
During the Bauma in Munich, Lievers Holland introduced the first DuoScreed with battery. A handy machine that creates perfectly smoothed concrete floors. But at least as important is the battery system chosen. Metabo's Cordless Alliance System (CAS) is leading within the range of power tools. That makes the batteries also usable for other machines.
Lievers Holland has been a specialist in the processing of (young) concrete for over sixty years. For this purpose, they supply a total package of machines for compaction, levelling and finishing. Like no other she knows the importance of quality in this. "Ask a construction worker to help with the processing of concrete and he drops everything out of his hands," knows Jowan van den Berg, Sales Manager of Lievers Holland. "He knows that concrete hardens and so his support is needed immediately. That's what makes the reliability of our concrete processing machines so important. They always have to work."
In addition to quality, Lievers Holland stands for sustainability. With the development of the first battery-powered vibratory needles in 2019, it has embarked on a path that it will continue to follow from now on. "The development of machines with a battery system fits perfectly with our mission," Van den Berg says. "We want our machines to stand for safety, quality and efficiency always and everywhere in the world. By linking up with Metabo's CAS system, we have taken an important step toward further realizing this mission. Users can now purchase a limited number of batteries for a wide range of machines. After all, these can be used for the entire fleet of machines."
The cordless DuoScreed, making its debut at Bauma, is a multifunctional machine that can be used as a vibrating beam and finishing trowel. The patented machine consists of a drive unit and an interchangeable profile, available in various sizes. The drive unit is very compact and equipped with a 36V motor driven by two batteries. Use of the DuoScreed ensures that the top layer of freshly poured concrete is compacted. The last air bubbles are vibrated out. At the same time, the wide vibrating beam smoothes the concrete. Depending on the project, the user can choose a beam of one and a half to six meters.
"The DuoScreed is easy to operate," says Van den Berg. "Once the top layer of concrete is level, you pull the beam behind you. Especially outside and in large halls where fuel devices are no longer allowed, the new Duoscreed guarantees perfectly leveled, flat floors, no matter how large or small the surface." With this, Lievers Holland has taken another important step in the sustainable processing and finishing of freshly poured concrete.
A logical, next step is to adapt other existing machines. "The first butterfly machine can also be admired as a battery machine. Lievers Holland has a great name within its field. We are based in the Netherlands, but our dealers can be found all over the world. This allows us to help customers everywhere. Even a specially adapted machine we can deliver at short notice, sometimes even within a few days. We are the market leader in this and want to remain so."
