New edge formwork for optimal insulation of concrete floors
Precast elements allow the concrete floor to be poured quickly. They are available in the same thickness as the exterior wall insulation.

New edge formwork for optimum insulation of concrete floors

Heat loss can be significant through horizontal surfaces, but many forget that heat can also escape through the edges of the floor slab. It is therefore better not to do a half-assed job in new construction projects and ensure that there are no thermal bridges anywhere in the insulation of the concrete floor slabs, with particular attention to the floor edges. This is the only way to ensure that heat stays where it is needed: the living spaces.

The new JACKODUR® Maxi insulating formwork completes the range of high-quality floor insulation and formwork products from JACKON Insulation. It possesses the same proven properties as the JACKODUR® insulating wall formwork (JDS) but is distinguished by its optimized thicknesses, adapted to standard exterior wall insulation thicknesses of 80, 140 and 160 mm. This provides a significant advantage. It is sufficient to order the Maxi insulation wall formwork in the required thickness corresponding to the thickness of the exterior wall insulation, which has a favorable effect on costs.

No cold bridges with the high-quality XPS thermal insulation

Like all JACKODUR® products, this formwork element made of extruded polystyrene rigid foam is extremely sturdy, pressure-resistant and water-repellent and stands out for its excellent thermal insulation properties. With a thermal conductivity coefficient of only λD = 0.035 W/(m-K), this new edge formwork guarantees a very high insulating capacity. In addition, JACKODUR® Maxi insulating edge formwork has an optimized shape: the cross batten that serves as support for the structure's insulating upstand wall is factory glued into the groove provided for this purpose. This lath is also made of XPS. This ensures that no thermal bridges are created.

The insulating formwork is attached to the wall with two adhesive strips of JACKODUR® construction foam. The foam provides excellent adhesion to the masonry and closes joints and recesses in the insulation layer without construction knots.

Quick installation without demoulding

The convenient click system ensures quick and easy installation. Moreover, the sturdy panels offer a double advantage: not only do they allow insulation without cold bridges, the insulation also serves as formwork for pouring the concrete floor. All work is carried out in one step and no formwork is required. This saves valuable time.

Relief structure for improved plaster adhesion

The next step of the work is just as quick: the waffled structure of the Maxi insulation wall formwork creates an ideal substrate for the plaster and provides the product with very good adhesion, without pretreatment or additional adhesive primer.

This easy to install floor edge formwork is suitable for all types of walls and is available for concrete thicknesses between 180 and 250 mm. Users will find exactly what they need for insulating reinforced concrete floor edges - regardless of their thickness, and for insulating the exterior wall. JACKODUR® Maxi-insulation edge formwork perfectly meets the very highest demands.
