Family business De Pelsmaeker, founded in 1994, specializes in the construction of industrial buildings in steel, concrete or wood. The Westerlo-based firm is known for its dedicated service and correct execution of works, with each project being finished down to the smallest detail.
"In the early years, this company consisted of three men in the office and one assembly crew, but today we employ about 50 people, accounting for four assembly crews with our own cranes and aerial work platforms, two crews for foundation and drainage work and another two for finishing," says project manager Jan Van Tricht. "Until the end of the last century, in addition to our assembly teams, we only had our own drawing department. But since the turn of the century we have been producing our own steel structures, and in 2010 we also started a workshop for the production of precast concrete elements. Thanks to these investments and our skilled team, we can offer our customers targeted advice and carry out the entire construction process in-house."
De Pelsmaeker's core business lies in the realization of structures and buildings made of steel and concrete, such as production halls, industrial buildings, SME units, specific projects for the food industry, garages, showrooms and logistics buildings. De Pelsmaeker has also been working closely with Fingo for many years. For example, the firm was involved in the new construction project of the manufacturer of concrete vaults. "For the construction of the new production hall, concrete plant and offices, Fingo asked its customers, particularly industrial builders, who was interested in carrying out this project. In the end, we submitted a dossier and quickly came to an agreement. In addition to the floors, basement and earthworks, we carried out all the above-ground works, in other words the steel structures, concrete walls, steel wall panels, roof and skylights," Van Tricht explains. "Especially the size and strict planning made this total project a challenge. In July 2018, we started the foundation work and from August we built the steel structure. This year we produced all building elements in our own workshop, and then assembled them with continuously one shift and at the production shed with two shifts simultaneously. The good cooperation between all construction partners was crucial here." Industriebouw
De Pelsmaeker was also involved in the construction of the showroom of Mobilhome Dicar (Geel) and the production warehouse with office for Schoeller Allibert (Beringen), among others. Currently, the company is building, among other things, a production site for animal feed supplement producer Nutrex (Olen).
