BAG-MacBen bv, with offices in Sint-Niklaas and Breda, specializes in material testing equipment with service and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibrations. Its equipment and services target the broader construction segment and offer calibrations for concrete, asphalt, soils, steel, sand, aggregates and other building materials.
The service applies to a wide range of equipment, including pressure and tensile testing machines, tensile testing equipment and hydraulic measuring systems on pressure cylinders and scales, including those from a number of internationally renowned partners.
BAG-MacBen was founded in 1992 and has grown into a leading knowledge company. It provides service and engineering services in the sale and maintenance of high-quality testing machines and equipment. In doing so, it holds ISO17025 Belac 410-CAL accreditation. BAG-MacBen was recently acquired by the Rycobel Group and has since formed a synergistic and flexible company that runs on the know-how of a team of experienced engineers and other specialists. Wilfried Gijbels, Managing Director: "Our strength is manifested, on the one hand, in a carefully selected range of high-tech devices and quality consumables via the web shop and, on the other hand, in a close cooperation with several important top manufacturers such as Matest, Pavetest, Zorn, Cooper Technology, Steeltest, Tecnotest, Giatec, Sol Solution, Proceq, Ohaus, Kern, Sauter, etc...."
BAG-MacBen targets the three main market segments in the field of building and construction, namely construction companies and contractors, geotechnical and engineering research centers and educational institutions.
In doing so, BAG-MacBen primarily approaches sales and distribution channels that have an ear for modern research and testing techniques and pay due attention to permanently correct calibration of their devices. BAG-MacBen is accredited for the calibration of pressure testers/concrete presses up to 3,000 kN, for tensile testers up to 500 kN and for scales up to 160 kg. Thanks to the broader scope of parent company Rycobel, calibrations on other quantities are also offered under accreditation.
Says Gijbels, "Due to the extensive product range and the frequent changes in procedures and standards, it is a constant challenge for us to be and stay current. We always strive to work out 'tailor made' solutions for our customers. We also have a multilingual technical department, which provides the necessary supporting documents."
From the 1,200 m² distribution center in Sint-Niklaas, thousands of customers are supplied worldwide. BAG-MacBen has a modern order picking system, which allows orders placed before noon to be shipped on the same day upon request.
The laboratories in Sint-Niklaas are specially equipped with a separate insulated industrial floor for the vibration-free calibration of equipment, with a special weighted support beam for the calibration of hanging scales, a separate separate air extraction system, an adapted air conditioning installation and adapted, heavy concrete bases for the calibration of dynamic plate tests.
In case of emergencies or problems, it sends its intervention teams to the customer in a very short time. However, many problems can also be solved remotely, via telephone assistance.
