Delmar Group takes over architectural concrete SVK activities in full

100% continuation of activities

Group Delmar from Komen has taken over the production activities of SVK's architectural concrete division as of March 1, 2021 and will continue the activity on SVK's site in Sint-Niklaas under the commercial name "SVK ELBETON". Most of the staff members of the department involved made the transition to the new company and are ready to guarantee the continuity and smooth restart of SVK ELBETON with their expertise. With this acquisition, Delmar lays hands on a performing production site and perpetuates the group's prominent presence in the growing market of architectural concrete.

Benjamin Deltour (Managing Director SVK ELBETON): "With the acquisition of SVK Architectonisch Beton, we acquire a modern and spacious site that offers prospects for further growth. The activities of SVK Architectural Concrete are a nice and logical complement to the other companies within the group. In addition to the increase in scale and possible synergy benefits associated with this acquisition, we are also very pleased to be able to offer our customers elements in polished decorative concrete from now on. This high-quality finish is, quite rightly, much appreciated by building owners and architects. The acquisition allows us to respond to this demand as well."

José Deltour (Founder Delmar Group): "The employees of the acquired industry have demonstrated several times in the past that they are capable of delivering extremely high-quality work and they have several prestige projects to their credit. It would therefore have been a great pity to lose this know-how. Our history does not stretch as far back as SVK's, but we are growing at double-digit rates every year, and the fact that the acquired employees have shown a quick and confident willingness to step into this story with us is surely a sign that our track record inspires confidence."

Benjamin: "Initially the new site will take over part of the production of Delmar and Elbeton, but sales will be restarted immediately and in the short term our own projects will be processed again. Belgium remains the most important market, of course, but from now on we are also looking emphatically towards the Netherlands. In the past, we were already able to realize beautiful projects there, but historically we were looking more towards France. Through this acquisition and SVK's reputation among our northern neighbors, we hope to gain an important position in that market as well."

José: "We are convinced that in the long run this acquisition will prove to be a good decision for all concerned, although integrating a new industry within the group will of course take time and effort. But, Rome wasn't built in a day either."

Benjamin (laughs): "No. But with our precast concrete solutions, it still could have been done faster."

GROUP DELMAR

The family-owned Delmar Group with headquarters in Komen has 4 production sites in Belgium and France and commercial operations in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, United Kingdom and Switzerland. The group is managed by owners José and Benjamin Deltour. They have been active on the construction market since 1993 as producers of precast concrete elements such as stairs, balconies and façade panels. The companies Betsinor (FR) and Delmar Prefa are part of the Delmar Group and in 2019 the company Elbeton from Aalter, active in architectural concrete, was also acquired. With the acquisition of SVK Architectonisch Beton, the Delmar Group acquires a fifth production site and can thus offer the full range of architectural concrete to its customers, including polished decorative concrete.
