Registration is possible through www.nationalestaalprijs.nl/inschrijven
The National Steel Award is the biennial award of Building with Steel, dedicated to inspiring applications of steel in construction.
Participation in the 2020 edition is open to projects, both new construction and remodeling and renovation, that were completed or commissioned in 2019 or 2018.
In addition to projects in the Netherlands, projects on foreign soil can also participate. In these foreign projects, at least two project partners (client, architect, structural engineer, contractor and/or steel erector) must have Dutch nationality.
Participation is possible in the categories: commercial construction, industrial construction, residential construction, infrastructure and characteristic steel building components. This fifth category includes steel facades and roofs, atria, canopies, staircases and public art assets.
All entries can also compete for the National Sustainability Award Steel 2020. This cross-category prize will go to the project that - of all entries - scores best on environmental friendliness and sustainability.
More information about the participation options and conditions is incorporated in the regulations National Steel Prize 2020.
All entries are judged by a professional jury in which several key disciplines of Dutch construction are represented.
The jury this time consists of:
The jury may nominate one or more projects in each of the five participation categories for a National Steel Award 2020. In addition, the jury may select one or more nominations from all entries for the National Sustainability Award for Steel 2020.
From the nominees, the jury will select the winner(s) of the National Steel Award 2020 by participation category and the winner(s) of the cross-category National Sustainability Award Steel 2020.
After judging, in June 2020, Building with Steel will announce the nominated projects. The award winners will be announced at the National Steel Construction Day, Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam.
All participating projects are published on www.nationalestaalprijs.nl and in the
October issue of the trade journal Building with Steel.
