Once again, thirty Mebin concrete plants achieve gold CSC certification

Thirty concrete plants receive sustainability certificates

Concrete producer Mebin remains committed to making its concrete mortar plants more sustainable. Thirty Mebin plants recently achieved the gold sustainability level of the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC), the global hallmark for sustainable concrete production, for a second time. Independent certifier Kiwa awarded the gold CSC certificates to Mebin on Wednesday, May 20.

'Mebin was one of the first Concrete Mortar manufacturers to receive the CSC gold. In 2017 we started with seven companies and now we are at more than a hundred.' says Remco Kerkhoven of concrete knowledge center Betonhuis. 'CSC has become the standard of the market in three years. With the recertification, Mebin demonstrates that concrete is produced sustainably.'

Proof of craftsmanship Mebin is therefore proud that all plants once again managed to obtain the golden CSC certificate. Despite the stricter questions in the 2.0 version of the CSC hallmark, Mebin managed to achieve a good score for all plants. This is partly due to several Sand & Gravel suppliers who have also certified themselves with the CSC hallmark,' said Ronel Dielissen. 'The importance of such a hallmark is also penetrating the concrete world, clients and contractors are increasingly starting to make the CSC certificate a requirement.'

International Scheme The internationally recognized CSC certification has four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. The actual (re)certification is carried out exclusively by independent certification bodies affiliated with CSC. Pleun Kleinveld, certification expert at Kiwa: 'Mebin is certified with thirty gold CSC certificates. The entire organization has worked hard together for this. Precisely by taking measures, Mebin is making a contribution to a better climate.'
