Revised standard for concrete published for comment

Many of the concrete types used in the Netherlands contain low clinker contents, for example, blast furnace cement. This appears to make them susceptible to damage from moss growth, especially in environments where the concrete is exposed to moisture or frost and thaw cycles.

Minimum clinker content

To ensure the quality of concrete, the standards committee proposes that a minimum clinker content be maintained in certain environmental classes from now on.

Amendment proposal

Interested parties can view the proposed amendment at standardsdesigns.nen.co.uk and provide comments there. The standards committee considers the comments to arrive at a final amendment.

The standards committee has also written a technical explanation of the decision to propose this change. The explanation can be downloaded free of charge in the normshop on nen.nl
