Prominent role of ConstruSteel in historic milestone within the steel construction industry. On Thursday, September 26, 2019, the first digital messages in the form of quotations and orders were sent between steel builder Hanse Staalbouw and steel supplier Bressers Metaal. The 'Digi(S)tale messages' pilot used software from Inad and ConstruSteel. The digital messages are based on the Sales and Etim standards of Ketenstandaard and initiated by trade association Bouwen met Staal in cooperation with the Dutch Steel Federation (SFN), Samenwerkende Nederlandse Staalbouw (SNS).
The pilot simulated the optimal situation. The process was handled completely digitally; from quantity determination using BIM, optimization, request for quotation to digital confirmation of the order. By handling information digitally, no order lines need to be entered. Concrete results for anyone working with Digi(S)tale messages are significant time savings and no errors.
The Digi(S)tale message pilot has laid the foundation for more Digi(S)tale messages such as invoices, delivery notes and delivery documents. In this way, the steel sector is prepared for developments from legislation (quality assurance), social developments (sustainable / circular construction) and the need for the sector to be and remain competitive.
Sending digital messages also provides opportunities to further optimize processes and partnerships. Think 'Just in time' delivery in small batches, optimization of stocks and delivery including operations, etc.
Digi(S)tale messages is an initiative of Bouwen met Staal in cooperation with the Dutch Steel Federation (SFN), Samenwerkende Nederlandse Staalbouw (SNS) and software suppliers with the aim of facilitating digital cooperation between parties within the sector. This will enable the steel sector to be and remain competitive.
