Complex welding and construction work

Commissioned by Transport Region Amsterdam, the Amstelveen Line is currently being transformed into the Amstel Tram. This involves a number of drastic interventions, such as the realization of three new underpasses, the replacement of stops and the adjustment of rails, switches and overhead wires. Lommers Welding Services has an important share in this large-scale renewal operation.

The contribution of the family business is twofold. "We deploy our specialists on location, but also prepare the necessary work in our own modern workshop in Purmerend. That is equally our strength and is appreciated by clients. We are NEN-EN 1090, ISO 9001, ISO 3834-2 and VCA certified. Because we often get the chance to think along in the preliminary phase, we can make projects run more efficiently. That makes us the partner for realizing all types of constructions."

For the Amstelveen Line, Lommers Welding Services installed the anchor rings at the Kronenburg, Zonnestein and Sportlaan locations, among others.

Widely certified

As of mid-2014, all structural parts with load-bearing properties, which are included in the main calculation as load-bearing, fall under the NEN-EN 1090 standard. These structural parts must be CE marked. The standard has implications for manufacturers of steel and aluminum structural parts for construction. This means that not only the supplier of the final product must be able to deliver CE marking, but also all suppliers. Lommers Welding Services is therefore a welding and construction company in the broadest sense of the word. "As a modern family business, we can count ourselves as one of the larger ones in the Netherlands," says Lommers. "Customization, efficiency, safety and quality are important concepts for us. "With the help of our mobile workshop and welding units, we can get to all hard-to-reach locations," Lommers continued. "We are skilled in all welding disciplines, cutting and mobile boring. But also in disassembly and assembly work, even from the water. For the Amstelveen Line, among other things, we installed the anchor rings at the Kronenburg, Zonnestein and Sportlaan locations. The sliding connections for these anchor belts were completely prefabricated in our Purmerend workshop. We also welded the prefabricated deck gaps to the sheet piles on site. In short, a very varied package of services, which made full use of the combination of our mobile workshop on location (field service) and our own workshop in Purmerend (indoor service)."
