Have you ever noticed that steel construction projects can go off track without you realizing it, and that the consequences don’t show up in the numbers until later? It’s about more than just the outcome of a single project: the way you organize the work determines how early you can make adjustments.

Liemar, Indus, and Bouwen met Staal are organizing an inspiration session and workshop titled “Competitiveness of the Dutch Manufacturing Industry” on Thursday, November 19, 2026, for entrepreneurs and operations directors of steel construction companies at TruSteel’s headquarters. How do you stay competitive amid high labor costs, a tight labor market, and fluctuating steel prices? And what does your company need to have in place to work smarter and further automate its processes? We’ll be discussing these topics together.

Experience for yourself the benefits of organizing things differently

During the “Smart Team Organization” workshop, you’ll run a fictional manufacturing company alongside other participants. Over several rounds, you’ll implement improvements and immediately see how they affect lead time, the amount of work in progress, and the results.

You’ll discover where work gets bogged down, what results from clear handoffs, and how behavior and collaboration influence the process. This way, you’ll experience what happens when you take on fewer tasks at once and focus on resolving a single bottleneck.

We’ll constantly draw parallels to your own business: what do you recognize, and how can you organize things differently within your company? During the session, there will be plenty of opportunity to exchange experiences with other entrepreneurs and operations directors in the steel construction industry.

3:30 p.m. | A Look Inside TruSteel
After a brief introduction, our host company tells us about its operations. During a tour of the factory, we see how the work is organized. There is time for questions and sharing experiences.

4:45 p.m. | Interactive Workshop: Organizing Smartly Together
Together, we’ll explore how to make your work more predictable. You’ll try out changes, see the results, and discuss which ones can be applied within your own company.

Around 6:15 p.m., we’ll take a break from the workshop for a group meal. Afterward, we’ll continue building on the insights we’ve gained.
