The revision of the national standard NEN 6008:2008 on reinforcing steel and NEN-EN 1992-1-1 + C2:2011/NB2016 for the national annex to Eurocode 2, have been published.
NEN-EN 10080:2005 "Steel for the reinforcement of concrete" gives general requirements, definitions and test requirements for the performance properties of weldable reinforcing steel. This standard only gives no further details for reinforcing steel types with the corresponding performance requirements. The performance requirements for the types of reinforcing steel commonly used in the Netherlands that comply with NEN-EN 10080:2005 are specified in NEN 6008/A1:2020.
Main changes to NEN 6008/A1
NEN 6008/A1:2020 has been changed from NEN 6008:2008 in a number of respects. The main changes are:
National annex for calculation of concrete structures
European standard NEN-EN 1992-1-1, "Eurocode 2: Design and calculation of concrete structures - Part 1-1: General rules and regulations for buildings," provides the general requirements for design and calculation of concrete structures. In the national annex NEN-EN 1992-1-1 + C2/NB/A1:2020 This standard establishes the choices from the options given in NEN-EN 1992-1-1+C2:2011. Thereby the values valid for the Netherlands for the nationally determined parameters are laid down. This can be used to demonstrate that a building achieves the level of structural safety required by Dutch building regulations.
