Fully pluggable E-installation in precast concrete benefits durability, speed and quality

The cooperation between Attema BV and Van Nieuwpoort Prefab Beton BV leads to beautiful solutions for both residential and non-residential construction. Fully pluggable installation in concrete is a great example of this. "We have been working together for about thirty years. In the meantime, the demand for housing has risen enormously and sustainability is playing an increasingly important role. We strongly believe in prefabricated hull construction. It works more sustainably, faster and benefits quality, because you produce in a conditioned environment instead of in the rain and cold," explains Robert Woudenberg, Installation & Construction sales manager at Attema.

Attema is the developer and manufacturer of innovative solutions for various market segments, including Installation, Connectivity and Construction. A few years ago, it developed "100% Install 2.0," which enables fully pluggable installation in residential construction. This takes advantage of installation space in hollow walls and suspended ceilings. Now, with the new floor and wall boxes, it also offers a fast installation method for (precast) concrete walls and floors. This will save considerable time in larger housing projects.

Fully pluggable installation

Van Nieuwpoort, which has been producing precast floors for more than a hundred years, was looking for this solution, so it approached Attema. "Well, we also call ourselves customer snappers," laughs Woudenberg. "We make a huge effort to understand the customer demand in detail so that we can optimally translate it into our products." Kees van Oostenrijk, technical manager at Van Nieuwpoort: "I can absolutely confirm that. Attema asked an awful lot of questions, so they learned exactly how we want to work and what we like. Even when improving the product, for example after a first session or first batch, they kept good contact and listened to our feedback. We are therefore using the product to our full satisfaction."

Fast and reusable

Attema supplies an extremely complete range: from group box to switchgear. All products are assembled according to the client's wishes, tested and delivered per floor or unit at the agreed location and time. Woudenberg: "It is then just a matter of plugging in, assembling and done. So there are no pliers or screwdrivers involved. So a complete apartment can be installed in just a few hours. The fact that you can always remove and reuse it again makes it even more sustainable."

Save time

Van Oostenrijk: "We have already applied this solution several times. I think for example of the realization of 24 houses for social housing on Vlieland, but also the construction of a temporary apartment complex for Ukrainians. And we are currently supplying the prefabricated floors for 45 homes in Zaandam for Zaanstreek housing corporation Parteon. The solution offers the opportunity, together with the other contractors, to complete a house in five days, including the complete connection of the electrical installation. Pluggable installation really delivers huge time savings, especially with the Attema box that ensures easy accessibility."
