CSC gold Betoncentrale Twenthe

On Wednesday, September 4, Kiwa awarded a gold Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) certificate to nine plants of Betoncentrale Twenthe BV (five plants of Betoncentrale Twenthe BV, Betoncentrale Diamant BV, Betoncentrale Drenthe BV, Betoncentrale Eemsmond BV and Betoncentrale Nederrijn BV). The company is a member of Betonhuis and is actively committed to making the concrete sector more sustainable. Quality is of paramount importance. This is evidenced by the ISO 9001 and 14001 certified management system and KOMO certified products. "And now CSC gold is added to that," says Henk ter Welle hoofd production & technology, Concrete Plant Twenthe.

International CSC scheme

The Concrete Sustainability Council has defined the requirements and conditions for the CSC certificate in the Sustainable Concrete Manual 2.0. This also makes the certificate an international regulation. There are four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. In the Netherlands, CSC-NL (Betonhuis sector concrete mortar) is the regional scheme administrator. The actual certification is carried out exclusively by independent certifying bodies; Kiwa is one of them.

Evidence

The CSC seal of approval is proof of corporate social responsibility. The certification system drives continuous improvement in the concrete sector through cooperation of producers and suppliers. The certificate holder can raise his certification level at any time by providing additional evidence. Ter Welle: "Betoncentrale Twenthe BV has been engaged in the sustainable production of concrete for several years. We are proud of achieving CSC gold, the proof of our sustainable policy.
