Palmax Infra & Construction, led by owner Canip Ilhan, is known for its innovative approach in infrastructure sector, among others. Palmax has been the expert in rebar and related products and services for many years. Since its establishment, the company has not only built a solid reputation in the Netherlands, but also spread its wings to international markets. Guided by core values such as sustainability, innovation and reliability, Palmax strives to create an infrastructure that is not only functional, but also has a positive social impact. How does Palmax combine this ambition with its growing international presence?
"Our focus is not only on providing quality products, such as rebar, but also on building lasting relationships with our customers," says Ilhan. "We focus on providing top quality and skilled workers who make a difference on every project. We understand how complex and demanding large-scale infrastructure and civil projects can be. It is not only about materials, but also about reliability and flexibility. We want to be a partner who not only supplies materials and labor, but who thinks, innovates and grows with us from the beginning."
"As we grew, we realized we could serve our clients even better by also providing high-quality steel products," Ilhan said. "This led to the acquisition of Tilborghs Betonstaal. By joining forces, we were able to increase our flexibility, innovativeness and adaptability, allowing us to supply large quantities of steel and manpower at a decent price and without sacrificing quality or safety. Our steel products are not just products made to order, but result-oriented solutions that we deliver with care, craftsmanship and an eye for sustainability."
Initially, Palmax focused on providing qualified teams for complex infrastructure projects, especially for large Dutch projects. Think of the Afsluitdijk, the Nieuwe Sluis Terneuzen, Station Driebergen-Zeist and various subprojects for ASML. This opened the doors to similar projects in Belgium, including the world's first energy island (Princess Elisabeth Island), COTU and the ONE by INEOS project. "Such projects show the strength of the synergy with Tilborghs Betonstaal. We provided experienced specialists and adapted to the desired speed and rhythm of the client."
The industry is changing faster than ever, so how is your organization responding to these changes? "By investing heavily in technologies that make steel processing more efficient, with fewer emissions and waste," Ilhan answers. "We are constantly researching how to improve our products for a sustainable life cycle. In addition, we innovate so that we can meet the social and environmental demands of tomorrow."
"One of the important core values that our companies manage is reliability. Challenges such as tight deadlines, cultural differences and high quality standards require an approach based on flexibility, innovation and reliability. Our experience, especially with large Dutch clients, has helped us effectively navigate different markets and requirements."
Finally, what is your advice to the industry? "Keep your core values high and keep investing in people, productivity, efficiency and innovation. Only then can we build a sustainable, future-proof infrastructure together. Our approach proves that a company can not only be successful, but also make a social impact. Locally and internationally."
