12th Benelux Thermal Galvanizing Trophy 2019 - Nominees

On March 26, the jury gave its verdict on the 100 projects participating in the 12^the edition of our biennial Hot Dip Galvanizing Trophy. With this competition, Zinkinfo wants to show a sample of applications of hot-dip galvanizing. Hot-dip galvanizing offers designers and their clients many advantages. Especially the long life and low maintenance are important assets of this preservation system. Moreover, designers appreciate the beautiful aging process of hot-dip galvanized steel, which actually only gets more beautiful with age. 

THREE CATEGORIES

In response to SEATTLE ZINC starting this edition, the BTTV Trophy distinguishes between three categories: Functional Galvanizing, Aesthetic Galvanizing and Duplex Systems.
After careful consideration, the judges arrived at the following nominations:

Category FUNCTIONAL PLASTICS (36 projects)

Category ESTHETICIZING (28 projects)

DUPLEX SYSTEMS category (36 projects)

• Nominated: Brainport Industries Campus Cluster 1
• Nominated: Rebuilding the tower of St. Anne's College - K-Tower
• Nominated: Canopy Stationsplein Utrecht

From these nominations, the jury selected one laureate per category who will be announced at the EGGA Assembly Party. This event will take place on Wednesday, June 12 at the Felix Pakhuis in Antwerp. Each laureate will receive a trophy. All submitted projects will be widely featured in a book that will be presented at the awards ceremony. All participating projects will appear in a digital edition of the Zinkinfo Magazine. On the website of Zinkinfo Benelux is a page dedicated to each project in this edition.

Zinkinfo believes it is incredibly important for the construction industry to put its shoulders to the wheel of the circular economy. Circular construction needs to be promoted and for that reason, one project from all entries will receive a Circular Construction Trophy.
