Building Holland also gets green light from government

The Dutch government announced at the June 24 press conference that trade fairs can also go ahead again from July 1. This means that the innovation event Building Holland on October 27, 28 and 29, 2020 in RAI Amsterdam now also gets the green light from the government. In the press conference it was announced that as long as people can keep one and a half meters distance between themselves, there is no longer a maximum number of visitors for meetings. Building Holland can and will comply with the required measures.

Dirk van Gemert, head of events at Building Holland: "Of course we have all been waiting for this message: green light, we can go ahead. That gives enthusiasm! We were already in the starting blocks, but now we are going to work with extra enthusiasm to make it a fantastic event. We notice that the market needs to give an extra impulse to sustainability together. Together with our 150 partners we are ready to welcome our visitors. We already had a great basis for the March edition which was moved to October. From that basis we will build on."

"We have not been sitting still in the meantime," Van Gemert continues. "By now we have our first online event Building Holland digital (June 25) behind us, with fortunately a lot of positive reactions. The next Building Holland digital is scheduled for September 10. For our physical event in the RAI, we have developed a number of new presentations: from Future pioneers to creative zones."

Move freely 1.5 meters apart

A condition for allowing meetings to go ahead without a maximum number of visitors is that participants are asked in advance if they show symptoms of Covid-19. Visitors must also register in advance, something that already applied for Building Holland. Van Gemert: "Once one is inside, one can move freely across the exhibition floor. Of course we maintain the one and a half meter distance at all places on the fair floor. There is also the opportunity for responsible networking both on and off the exhibition floor. Furthermore, extra hygiene measures are taken, including extra cleaning of sanitary facilities, for example, and disinfection stations can be found at various places."

The already implemented Smart Badge technology applied at Easyfairs trade shows already allowed contactless scanning of information at exhibitor booths and will now have an even more important function. This badge offers a digital alternative to shaking hands or exchanging business cards. After the exhibition visit, the visitor receives an e-mail containing an overview of all the exhibitors he or she has scanned.
