Prefabricated construction is taking off. Actually quite logical given the speed and high quality that can be realized with precast construction. Bulten Prefab is fully dedicated to precast concrete construction. The still relatively young family business has quickly built up a nice reference list with projects such as ImageWharf in Amsterdam, the diving training center BCO in Enkhuizen and many (large) housing projects.
Bulten Prefab specializes in supplying and assembling precast concrete shells. "We are active in residential construction, among others, and realize industrial halls, office buildings, apartments and schools," says director Jaap Schreuder. "We take care of the complete picture from drawing to assembly, so that our clients have only one point of contact for the entire concrete shell. We have been doing this for just under four years now with great success. We are a young company with many driven young employees. Most of our employees are under thirty years of age."

Schreuder finds that more and more contractors are choosing to outsource precast assembly to a specialized party such as Bulten Prefab. "They have nothing to worry about (anymore) and are assured of a high-quality concrete shell." Construction is all about human and equipment availability. Bulten Prefab is aware of this like no other. "We see that companies often encounter problems with possible changes in planning or composition of products. With our motivated and qualified employees as well as our own equipment (including two cranes) we can respond very flexibly to changes. By the way, we do not produce ourselves. No, we leave the production of the prefab elements to specialized companies, permanent partners of ours. We then do ensure that the elements arrive at the construction site on time, so that we can assemble them in accordance with the client's schedule."
Despite its young existence, Bulten Prefab has already completed many fine projects. For example, the family business was commissioned by Hercuton to assemble the concrete shell of ImageWarf in Amsterdam's Houthavens. The concept comprises three building volumes that appear to be largely intertwined and rest on enormous black pedestals, executed in precast concrete. ImageWharf is a feast for the eyes and nominated for Best Building of the Year 2019. "The BCO diving training center in Enkhuizen, especially the 20-meter-high diving tanks, is another example where we were able to fully assert our expertise," says Schreuder. "The diving tanks are 20 meters high and realized on a very limited floor plan of only 20 by 20 meters. A great reference for us. We don't shy away from a challenge more or less. From a small school to large housing projects of up to 200 homes, leave the prefabricated shell to us."
