CADblanche and BIM4Production® have joined forces to develop a smart tool that bridges the gap between engineering software and production tracking software. The introduction of this plug-in, called SYNC2, will take place during the HOUTBOUW fair. This fair is from May 13 to 15 and will take place in the Brabanthallen in 's Hertogenbosch.
In the precast building production market, it is a thorn in the side: the gap between the engineering or drawing domain and the production environment. At many production companies, this is done as traditionally "via paper. That is, printed out drawings, detail books or project documents. Not to mention machine files that often reach the right machine for the production of an element via detours.
"That must and can be done differently," Henk Jan Nieuwenhuis (BIM4production®) and Johan de Groot (CADblanche) thought. The companies joined forces and developed a smart tool that works like a plug-in on engineering software. The plug-in ensures an automated transition of the required files between the CAD package and the production tracking software of, for example, BIM4Production®.
Johan de Groot: "From CADblanche, we develop software that eliminates repetitive and time-consuming work in the construction industry. The SYNC2 fits our ambition perfectly, although it was a requirement for us in the development that this plug-in does not export exclusively to BIM4Production®." From BIM4Production® this was not a problem, says Henk Jan Nieuwenhuis. "Our focus is on automating and optimizing the production flow of building elements and in our vision that starts already with engineering. Through this collaboration, we show that our platform is 'open' to smart integrations with third-party software. With the introduction of SYNC2, this is a bit more delineated and solves a pain point in the market. If the own ICT department of a (larger) factory wants to develop against our software, that is also possible."
The SYNC2 button solves a recurring pain point. In day-to-day practice, engineering output is often paper-based information, from drawings to detail books. With CADblanche's SYNC2 button combined with BIM4Prodcution®'s engineering module, this is a thing of the past. According to both companies, the plug-in quickly saves 10 to 15% of time for the engineer. In addition, in the combination it brings down office costs (paperless factory), failure costs (always the most up-to-date information available) significantly. And the SYNC2 is also extremely easy to use. Something CADblanche always has an eye for.
Both Johan de Groot and Henk Jan Nieuwenhuis are convinced that SYNC2 will provide valuable functionality for the precast construction industry. Therefore the joint appeal: "Get informed during the HOUTBOUW fair and experience live how SYNC2 works. You can find us on the exhibition floor in booth A1.099."
