Sustainability is going to play an increasing role in construction. Conscious handling of raw materials and production processes is becoming more important. This means constant development, innovation and looking to the future. And Bosch Beton does exactly that.
The ambitious family business Bosch Beton is at the forefront of sustainability. It is the ambition of the retaining wall manufacturer to reduce the burden on the environment, to minimize the footprint of itself and its customers, and to work toward 100% circular production in the future. Bosch Beton customers are helping to build a sustainable future with their products.
Concrete is a reliable building material, but raw materials are finite. That is why the company continues to innovate, develop and preserve in order to continue to make and supply a high-quality and sustainable product. Bosch Beton was the first retaining wall manufacturer in the world to obtain the CSC Gold certificate, indicating that its concrete products were produced in a sustainable and responsible manner.
At the state-of-the-art plant in Barneveld, production revolves entirely around sustainability. The first sustainable concrete plant in the Netherlands was built according to BREEAM-NL. "We want to use our raw materials optimally and if possible also reuse them with respect for our environment. So we use sustainable materials, recycled products and work with sustainable installations," says Gerard van den Bosch, CEO and co-owner of Bosch Beton. "On the factory there are 18,500 solar panels that provide us with energy. We collect rainwater in a 2,100 m3 water basin, after which we reuse it filtered in our production process."
Bosch Beton's old factory in Kootwijkerbroek has been demolished. The 20,000 tons of rubble has been processed into a granulate that serves again as raw material for new retaining walls. "Meanwhile, a third of the rubble has been reused for the production of high-quality concrete retaining walls. This is how we eat the old factory, so to speak," says Brechtje van den Beuken-Van den Bosch, CEO and co-owner of Bosch Beton. "This fits completely with our ambition to produce 100% circularly in the future." The manufacturer consciously chooses to produce high-quality and sustainable products for now and in the future. The lifespan of the end product must be at least 50 to 100 years and the product must be fully recyclable at the end of its lifespan."
Sustainability goes beyond that. Bosch Beton has maintained a long-term relationship with its customers and partners for many years and works with mutual trust and a focus on the future. Unburdening customers, personal and full-service oriented contact, customization, the highest quality and fast delivery make Bosch Beton a solid partner in the civil engineering sector.
