Tereco from Breda has been working in the field of fencing and access control for several decades. Because there was increasing demand in the market for soundproofing and sound-absorbing solutions, a panel was developed that absorbs more sound than was available on the market. A new company was successfully built around this a few years back: Mopriwand. Like Tereco, Mopriwand also cooperates well and extensively with Würth. Not only for the supply of tools and fasteners, but also for advice.

"Mopriwand's focus is on sound-absorbing screens for outdoor use," begins director and co-owner Nick van Dijk. "These find their application, for example, around heat pumps and other installations on roofs, at industrial installations near homes, as partitions near busy traffic roads, as enclosures for the outdoor area at daycare centers in a densely populated residential area and - very topical - at padel courts. We also increasingly supply for private individuals who want to screen their villa soundproof and also sight-proof."

Text and explanation

Customers of Mopriwand are contractors, heat pump installers and road builders, as well as sports associations. "Basically the professional installer who wants to tackle noise pollution," says co-owner Bram Godrie. "I also don't see Mopriwand.com as a webshop for sound absorbing and soundproofing solutions. After all, you're not buying a packet of butter. Our contacts are usually business to business to installers of screens and that certainly includes text and explanation the first time and especially with the larger screens. Often, noise measurements must be made in the preliminary phase or the existing situation with noise sources must be thoroughly mapped out. Then we sometimes also make construction calculations; all things where Mopriwand can offer support to customers."  

Regular supplier

Regularly, it is also Würth as a supplier that thinks and advises. Mopriwand has been working with this supplier of tools, anchors and fasteners from the very beginning. Godrie: "If something goes very well, you go with that. We have been working with Würth and account manager Gerard Suijkerbuijk in particular for ages. If we need something unusual or special again, he is our personal contact and that works very pleasant. You can then also refer to previous projects, so you don't have to explain everything anymore. And the stuff is top notch."

90-meter long screen

The cooperation with Würth bears fruit especially on special projects. Van Dijk: "In Waregem, we are currently building a windproof sound barrier 90 meters long and five meters high at a business premises. This addresses the nuisance caused by loading and unloading movements for the homes behind. Because of the scale of the screen, strength calculations and wind loads play a major role. A structural engineer made the calculations for us for the foundation, Würth advises us on the anchoring of the screen sections to the foundation." 

Output values

"We obviously take into account what the structural engineer indicates," Suijkerbuijk hooks up, "and on that basis we come to a recommendation on how the screen can best be placed, what the best placement technique is, what materials to use and what conditions to meet in order to guarantee the required pull-out values. For a project like the one in Waregem, a correct elaboration is of great importance and cannot be compared to an 80-high screen around a heat pump. But we also take that very seriously." 

The cooperation with Würth and Mopriwand is so excellent, Godrie said. "We supply complete packages to our customers. Besides the walls themselves, that includes the posts, anchors and all kinds of fasteners and possibly concrete, so customers have everything they need to finish the wall completely. Every pallet that goes out the door at Mopriwand includes material from Würth. In order not to overfill our warehouse, we keep a limited stock that we replenish weekly from Würth's depot in 's-Hertogenbosch. We see another long cooperation ahead."
