Stadsbader acquires BAM Contractors

Royal BAM Group announced on Tuesday 15/02/2022 that it has reached an agreement with the Stadsbader family group, led by CEO Dominique Valcke, on the sale of BAM Contractors and its stake in BV Asphalt.

Following the formal approval of the competition authorities, BAM Contractors, within Stadsbader Group, will continue its activities as a sister company of Stadsbader NV. Both companies will continue to operate autonomously, retain their own markets and will operate in a complementary manner. Jan Folens will remain in charge of BAM Contractors. The structure, values and pillars of BAM Contractors are in line with those of Stadsbader. Clout, quality and flexibility prevail and both companies place safety, the environment and innovation at the heart of all their activities. The aim of the acquisition of BAM Contractors is to leverage shared expertise and further increase vertical integration. In doing so, Stadsbader Group and BAM Contractors continue to rely on the commitment and teamwork of all employees. They are and will remain the most crucial link in the success of this story.

This new chapter offers a lot of opportunities in the further development of Stadsbader Group's activities. Given BAM Contractors' reputation as a strong player in civil projects, rail and catenary works, it definitely creates added value. BAM Contractors has an impressive order book with complex projects such as the reconstruction of the Vilvoorde Viaduct, the New Lock Terneuzen and the realization of the Scheldt Tunnel as part of the Oosterweel project.

Stadsbader is also already an important contractor in road building, construction and engineering with far-reaching vertical integration in terms of equipment and production entities. Its financial stability, solid Belgian anchoring and the proven growth trajectory of Stadsbader Group are a solid basis for the further development of BAM Contractors.

With the addition of BAM Contractors' 400 employees and €190 million in sales, Stadsbader Group now has 1,650 employees and achieves an annual turnover of €600 million. With this acquisition, Stadsbader Group can play its trump card as a multidisciplinary contractor even more than before.
