Steel Federation receives predicate royal

This year's 100th anniversary of the Staalfederatie Nederland has been awarded the predicate Royal. The certificate belonging to the predicate was presented to the chairman of the Royal Staalfederatie, Mr. Hans Hilbrands, by the Queen's Commissioner of the Province of Utrecht Mr. J.H. Oosters during the celebration of the 100th anniversary. The Royal predicate recognizes the importance of the Royal Steel Federation Netherlands and its members.

The Staalfederatie Nederland is a motivated association in which many new ideas arise that resonate nationally and internationally. The Steel Federation is often involved in actions, but also as co-founder, in relevant projects that promote processes in construction and industry.

Although the Steel Federation is a relatively small association, it represents a major social interest. The Steel Federation is at the forefront of reducing CO2 emissions. By profiling the positive environmental aspects of steel and metal products in the national environmental database, buildings, machinery, ships, drilling rigs, bridges and other products are made with an eye on the future in which reuse and recycling will play a crucial role. The members of the Steel Federation play an essential role in the Dutch manufacturing and construction industry. Without those members, construction and manufacturing would stagnate. The added value that the members of the Steel Federation bring to the production process is of great importance in helping customers make the right product choices.

The Steel Federation was founded on Jan. 1, 1919, as "The General Association of the Iron Trade," making it a century old this year. In the period after World War I, many associations were formed to organize the reconstruction of Europe and the Netherlands in particular. The Steel Federation is a platform for steel and metal traders and their stakeholders, with the aim of maintaining relationships and exchanging and increasing knowledge. In this jubilee year, the Staalfederatie aims to work with its stakeholders to strengthen the steel and metal sector in order to keep up with economic and political challenges. The Steel Federation focuses on five spearheads, namely: Personnel, Logistics, Financing, Innovation and Digitalization. Over the course of this year, the Steel Federation is organizing several meetings that will address these themes.

Because of the predicate Royal, as of today Royal Steel Federation also carries a matching, new logo.

The Steel Federation

Association activities include training, legal support, market information, events and meetings where the Steel Federation serves as a platform for the provision of information.
