Liemar Welcomes Busschers Staalwerken and Koppes Group

In May, we were once again able to welcome new clients. Both Busschers Staalwerken and Koppes Groep are prime examples of project-based steel construction companies in which insight, planning, and process control play a key role. It is noteworthy that, prior to making their decision, both organizations held extensive discussions with existing Liemar users to gather real-world experiences.

Busschers Steel Works

Busschers Staalwerken in Haaksbergen is a versatile steel construction company active in recycling technology and the supply of steel structures and structural components for a wide range of applications. The company is—rightly so—proud of the wide variety of products and projects it undertakes. From complex steel structures for the recycling industry to structural components for a wide range of customers: the variety of work creates a work environment in which maintaining control over progress, capacity, and capacity planning is essential.

To gain even greater control over these dynamics in the future, the current custom ERP system will be replaced. Busschers’ ambition goes beyond simply replacing the software. The goal is to gain greater insight into the progress of projects and production, further professionalize capacity planning, and better enable the organization to plan ahead and steer its course.

In addition, Busschers sees this process as an opportunity to further improve existing processes and prepare the organization for the next step.

Koppes Group

Koppes Group in Bergen is a leading family-owned steel construction company, where craftsmanship has long been the foundation of the organization’s success. Each year, the company produces more than 4,000 metric tons of steel structures for a wide range of projects, from commercial construction and industrial applications to complex custom-made structures. The combination of engineering, production, assembly, and maintenance makes Koppes Group a versatile player in the steel construction industry.

As the organization continues to grow, the need for greater insight into day-to-day operations is also increasing. Although various processes are already supported digitally, much of the information is still scattered across separate systems and workflows. Koppes wants to better consolidate that information and make it accessible to both management and employees on the shop floor.

The focus here is on real-time insight into projects, better-supported planning, and further digitization of the workshop. The ultimate goal is to enable employees to work more efficiently and to better manage the organization based on up-to-date information.

‘I just want to be able to see at a glance how the company is doing,’ says owner Bram Smedts. ‘And our employees need to be able to work with a system that makes their daily tasks easier. That’s just as important to me.’
