Tiggelovend-Kok was one of the first users of our ERP software. That was at the time when everyone was carefully switching from MS-DOS to Windows. So the steel construction company was a real forerunner in automation. Whatever has changed over the years, that pioneering spirit is still there. Patrick Teeuwsen: "Tiggelovend-Kok originated from a village forge in 1956. Via box trucks, street books and push-through receipts, we grew into a steel construction company that works internationally. Automation and optimization have played an important role in that development. And they will continue to do so in the years to come.
The cooperation started 25 years ago as it still is today; with a mutual 'dependency' and exchange of knowledge. Niels Oudenaarden: 'Since its inception, Liemar has had a close relationship with users to ensure that our software meets the needs of the industry as optimally as possible. Tiggelovend-Kok - and Ellie te Pas in particular - have played a big part in this. Ellie and Barry van den Reek have provided further development especially in the accounting field.'
Barry: 'After I graduated, Tiggelovend-Kok was one of my first 'own' clients. Together with Ellie I was able to put what I had learned at school into practice, and then it turns out that things are slightly different in the books than in practice. At that time, Liemar did not only focus on project-based steel construction companies. Together with Ellie, we made Liemar even better suited for that'.
Patrick: "The result is a software package that suits us perfectly. Whether it's a small product or a large project, the registration runs perfectly. I find that a great strength. We now record about 1,000 projects a year and are at number 22,000-and-something. Liemar is a very nice package that is easy to use, even for newcomers. And it continues to evolve. I shouldn't think about switching.
Niels: "Our norms and values are also very close to each other. The way we look at life, at cooperation, how we want to deal with each other, there is not much light in between. If there is something, you pick up the phone. That trust in each other is crucial in cooperation.'
Time does not stand still. Steel companies must - with a view to future-proof business - continue to develop. Tiggelovend-Kok likes to be at the forefront, although Patrick does not believe they always have to be the first. 'Sometimes you see the first sheep that crosses the dam fall into a trap. So we prefer to be third in that lead group. We respond to what's happening in and around our company and work on incremental, steady and continuous improvement and innovation. Our goal is to do more in 10, 15 years with the same number of people. But then more efficiently and more sustainably, then we will be thoroughly satisfied.'
Consequently, the topic of sustainability receives almost as much attention as automation at Tiggelovend-Kok. Patrick: "We have put 400 solar panels on the roof and are almost energy-neutral. During the recent renovation we increased insulation values and we are currently working on improving our waste flow. Smaller steps also contribute to reducing our footprint, such as electrical appliances and mugs instead of cardboard cups. We also contribute to society in our area, for example by sponsoring the local soccer club. We consider it all equally important.
Patrick: 'In between, we also do our best to sell Liemar to other steel companies, because we are a busy reference address.' Niels: 'It's no secret that Tiggelovend-Kok uses our software optimally, so many potential customers like to take a look at Liemar-east. And it almost always gives them the edge.'
