Pre-Event Concrete Canoe Race 2020

On Thursday, February 13, 2020, Ingenieurs- en adviesbureau Nebest B.V., in cooperation with the Concrete Association and the Utrecht Technical Association, is organizing the (free of charge) pre-event in preparation for the 2020 Concrete Canoe Race.

During various workshops, the knowledge regarding the material "concrete" is put to the test. All this with a view to the upcoming Concrete Canoe Race, but above all to provide the students with technical baggage that will come in handy during their working life. This informative and interactive day will consist of four workshops:

1. Concrete Technology: The basics of concrete technology are highlighted, the origin and technical properties of raw materials are discussed, and you learn to design a concrete mixture together with Nebest's concrete technologists.
2. Concrete maintenance: common damage mechanisms and repair possibilities of concrete are discussed and made clear through practical examples.
3. Laboratory: The opportunity will be offered to work on your own in Nebest's materials science laboratory and you will be shown around which will include other materials.
4. Measurement Techniques: measurements are taken to determine the quality of concrete and reinforcement.

We end the day with a small competition and networking drinks, where you will meet with specialists from the business world. This will give you the opportunity to recruit new sponsors for your team.
