The Concrete Association, founded jointly by government and industry in 1927, is the platform for individuals and organizations, who wish to share knowledge about the material concrete with each other. It forms, through the composition of its members, a knowledge infrastructure for the acquisition of knowledge, the joint recognition of knowledge questions and the promotion of the development of new knowledge about concrete. Through its activities, the Concrete Association supports its members with knowledge they need in their daily professional practice.
Activities include:
providing permanent and occasional training from VMBO to university level. The level and quality of training courses are highly appreciated by members, the organization of study days, excursions, workshops and exhibitions aimed at general and specific knowledge transfer, the publication of technical publications, the implementation of projects aimed at surveying and analyzing the demand for knowledge, the support of affiliated organizations, and finally, general actions are also carried out to strengthen the position of members or groups of members.
The base of 800 collective members from the public and private domain and 1,000 personal members with similar backgrounds are directly addressed about 12,500 people.
The knowledge offered is a welcome addition to the increasingly eroding curricular knowledge offered in mainstream education.
