On Oct. 8, FEREB vzw organized a seminar with demonstrations "Spray mortars for sustainable repair and protection of concrete" in cooperation with WTCB.
This seminar was also part of the VIS track "Sustainable concrete repair" initiated by Vlaio with the aim of increasing the professional knowledge and skills of Belgian companies (contractors and architects, study agencies, ...), active in the concrete repair sector, in order to obtain a sustainable and qualitative result.
More than 146 interested parties, engineering offices, contractors, public services registered for this seminar at the University of Liege. During 3 presentations, the different techniques of concrete repair with sprayed mortars were explained by inspiring guest speakers. Ir. Bram Dooms, deputy laboratory head, Concrete Technology Laboratory WTCB presented the basic concepts of techniques for sprayed mortars for concrete repair.
André De Meyer, MMB Machines talked about do's and dont's regarding different spraying techniques, necessary preparations, matching accessories, useful tips. Finally, Guido Van Der Borgh, FEREB vzw explained more about process certification for processing spray mortars for concrete repair.At the same time, practical demonstrations were organized by the various producers of repair and protective mortars such as BASF, MC Bauchemie, SIKA, Grouttech, Promat and Mapei.
