'Circular construction with precast concrete doesn't have to be expensive'

If it is up to Peikko, precast concrete will not be demolished in the future. Following successful reference projects in Ternat and Amsterdam, it will also apply its proven concrete connection technology in future projects. These steel screw joints provide a construction method that is not only fast, safe and efficient, but also circular.

Many contractors are switching from a traditional anchoring method to Peikko's innovative anchoring method. The HPKM column shoe connection allows them to install these columns brace-free, just like steel columns. In fact, after tightening the nuts, a moment-proof connection is created immediately. A precast concrete column can thus be assembled in as little as ten minutes, drastically reducing man and crane hours.

The wall shoes can also be used for coupling prefab elements in a horizontal direction.

Reversible connection

SUMO wall shoes absorb tensile loads between coupled precast concrete walls. SUMO wall shoes are used in combination with HPM and PPM anchor bolts with specially designed AL follower plates from Peikko. The product range is suitable for connections with light to heavy loads. A combination of the invisible PCs console system and the BECO beam shoe connection also allows precast concrete beams to be dismantled for future reuse.

Circular construction

Because these Peikko connections are reversible, they are ideally suited for circular construction. Various methods have been developed to protect the screw connection against corrosion and fire, while at the same time making it easy to disassemble at a later stage.
