BASF Construction Chemicals is now MBCC Group

▪ Split from BASF Group completed ▪ Dr. Jochen Fabritius is the new Chief Executive Officer of MBCC Group ▪ MBCC Group ready to exploit the potential of its companies MBCC Group, the new name of the former BASF Construction Chemicals after its acquisition by an affiliate of Lone Star (Lone Star), a global private equity firm will be operational from Oct. 1, 2020. The transaction between BASF and Lone Star closed on Sept. 30, 2020, effective as of midnight. Lone Star is now the new owner of the company. MBCC Group was spun off from BASF Group over the past 18 months and is now a fully independent organization. MBCC Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of chemicals and solutions for the construction industry, offering innovative and sustainable products and solutions in various fields, such as buildings, structures, tunneling, new construction and renovation. The group is among the world's leading suppliers of admixtures and is a major player in the highly fragmented building systems market. Dr. Jochen Fabritius appointed as CEO

The new owner has appointed Dr. Jochen Fabritius as the new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of MBCC Group. Dr. Fabritius is a civil engineer by training and has spent almost his entire career in the construction industry. He is a highly experienced expert in the construction industry. In recent years, he worked for Xella, where he started in 2014, first as COO (Chief Operating Officer) and then, from 2017, as CEO. Before that, he worked for 15 years at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He said, "I am delighted to be part of the MBCC Group and to work closely with a strong global management team to maximize the potential of this company. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all employees for their hard work and dedication to have, in times of a global pandemic, successfully achieved the divestment within the ambitious timeline.
