"The combination of knowledge and experience, brought to fruition by a driven team of experienced employees, has only one goal in mind: the best and most economical solution for the customer," says Managing Director Johnny Welkenhuysen.
The Limburg-based company, based in Sint-Truiden, has for years enjoyed a good reputation as a producer of precast concrete elements for the construction of infrastructure works for utilities such as water, electricity and traffic. Webeco therefore focuses on three business units: water, electric and structural. Johnny Welkenhuysen: "The appreciation for our efforts is reflected in the annual growth in the number of customers and projects. Our own engineering department and design department guarantee short lines of communication and flexibility in execution projects. Logistics are taken care of in-house."
The Concrete Water Products business unit includes a full range of standardized concrete products for sewer and drainage works as well as an extensive program of custom structures. "As a result, we can offer complete DWA and SHEWA systems," said Johnny Welkenhuysen. Within its various units, Webeco always has an eye for innovation. Some great examples are the new infiltration products launched in 2020.
Infiltration gullies: These allow water to be collected, drained and simultaneously infiltrated into the subsoil. The base is produced in 100% porous concrete and are thus water permeable over the entire surface, this with a minimum water permeability of 1,200 L/hour. The cover plate in concrete is provided with an opening to place the sewer nozzle on. The infiltration gullies are also equipped with a cover plate made of plastic, this in order not to clog the drain pipe at maximum pollution.
ATLAS infiltration gutters: Webeco's ATLAS infiltration gutters allow water to be collected, drained and simultaneously infiltrated into the subsoil. They are produced in 100 % porous concrete and are water permeable over the entire surface, with a minimum water permeability coefficient of 2.5 x 10-4 m/s. The infiltration gutters can be fitted with a loose cover grid or cover plate to provide access to an adjacent plot. They have a standard length of 4 m. Custom made channels are also available to order. ATLAS infiltration gutters are an extremely durable and sturdy solution for profiling open ditches. They are easy to clean by machine and therefore maintain their infiltration capacity.
Infiltration Wells: Webeco supplies infiltration pits in self-compacting concrete, produced in accordance with the requirements of EN1916 NBN-B21 104. They are available in 3 types: Ø1000, 800×800 and 1000×1000.
Infiltration tubes: Webeco recently developed a total range of infiltration sleeve elements, they feature perforations in bottom and side walls. These tubular elements offer a perfect solution when underground buffering and infiltration is required. Moreover, it is suitable to be loaded by heavy traffic. A durable solution that can be inspected and cleaned at any time. The tubular elements are placed on an infiltrating substrate and enveloped with a suitable geotextile.
The Concrete Electric Products business unit offers a range of precast standard and custom booths with a variety of applications such as MS Booths, booths for pump units, telecom ...
Prefab cabins do not have a uniform look; they must fit into their urban or landscape environment while at the same time conforming to the client's corporate identity and being produced according to applicable standards and safety requirements. Versatility in design and flexible production methods serve as the basis for Webeco's state of the art precast cabins. Beacon trays, cable trays, draw pits and pedestals complete the range.
In turn, the Concrete Structural Products business unit represents a diverse range of precast concrete structures for various applications. Here the emphasis is placed on the degree of finishing, including surface finish, color, structure, design and dimension. Webeco therefore profiles itself as a facilitator to realize projects in precast. Realized projects include Cycling through Water in Bokrijk and the bicycle and pedestrian tunnels at Plopsa Hasselt on the R71 -N702.
Quality is a common thread throughout Webeco's operations and is carried by the management, together with a team of skilled and experienced employees. Johnny Welkenhuysen: "The quality of our products and services is distinctive and decisive and is reflected, among other things, in the product certificates we are entitled to carry. All products manufactured in accordance with a harmonized standard are CE marked and if applicable BENOR, NL-BSB,KOMO, Synergrid ... And they are delivered with a declaration of performance (DoP) with reference to the essential product characteristics and performance. WEBECO designs and manufactures according to the applicable European quality standards and regulations. The concrete products bear CE marking
In 2019, Webeco opened a new headquarters on the industrial estate in Brustem, Sint-Truiden. Both production and administration were housed here. The existing site on the Hasseltsesteenweg in Sint-Truiden was converted and expanded into a precast customization department. Second half of this year, additional investments are planned to further respond to market demand. "With this new challenge, we are fully facing the future," concludes Johnny Welkenhuysen.
