Machines with battery technology are the future

Concrete processing machines are becoming more sustainable

Lievers Holland is committed to sustainable concrete processing machines. The development of new machines is now mainly focused on the battery. A big step forward. After all, where concrete floors have to be smoothed perfectly, power cords are a nuisance. But Lievers Holland made a second important decision. It chose to cooperate with Metabo's Cordless Alliance System (CAS). Many large organizations preceded her, so this battery system now connects to the power tools of 28 major brands.

Lievers Holland has been a specialist in the processing of (young) concrete for over sixty years. For this purpose, they supply a total package of machines for compaction, levelling and finishing. Like no other she knows the importance of quality in this. "Ask a construction worker to help with the processing of concrete and he drops everything out of his hands," knows Jowan van den Berg, Sales Manager of Lievers Holland. "He knows that concrete hardens and so his support is needed immediately. That's what makes the reliability of our concrete processing machines so important. They always have to work."

Connection to the CAS system from Metabo

Lievers Holland presented the first battery-powered vibrating needles in 2019. In doing so, it struck a path that it will continue to follow from now on. "The development of machines with a battery system fits seamlessly with our mission," Van den Berg says. "We want our machines to stand for safety, quality and efficiency always and everywhere in the world. Metabo's CAS system allows us to further realize this mission. Users can now purchase a limited number of batteries for a wide range of machines."

The DuoScreed

During Bauma 2022 in Munich, Lievers Holland presented the first DuoScreed with battery, a multifunctional machine that can be used as a vibrating beam and finishing trowel. The patented machine consists of a drive unit and an interchangeable profile, available in various sizes. The drive unit is compact and equipped with a 36V motor driven by two batteries. With the DuoScreed, the last air bubbles are vibrated out of the freshly poured concrete. At the same time, the wide vibrating beam smoothes the concrete with a beam of your choice, available from one and a half to six meters.

Modifying existing machines

A logical, next step is to adapt existing machines. Van den Berg: "The first butterfly machine with battery technology is already a fact. By continuing to improve our products, we have built up a good name in the concrete world. That we want to maintain. Service is an important part of that. We are always ready for our customers; anywhere in the world. Even a specially adapted machine we can deliver at short notice, sometimes even within a few days."
